The Scapegoat Strategy [Obama's Final Strategy For Re-Election: "Find Villains" says Krauthammer]

The Scapegoat Strategy

By Charles Krauthammer October 13

What do you do if you can’t run on your record — on 9 percent unemployment, stagnant growth and ruinous deficits as far as the eye can see? How to run when you are asked whether Americans are better off than they were four years ago and you are compelled to answer no?

Play the outsider. Declare yourself the underdog. Denounce Washington as if the electorate hasn’t noticed that you’ve been in charge of it for nearly three years.

But above all: Find villains.

President Obama first tried finding excuses, blaming America’s dismal condition on Japanese supply-chain interruptions, the Arab Spring, European debt and various acts of God.

Didn’t work. Sounds plaintive, defensive. Lacks fight, which is what Obama’s base lusts for above all.

Hence Obama’s new strategy: Don’t whine, blame. Attack. Indict. Accuse. Who? The rich — and their Republican protectors — for wrecking America.

In Obama’s telling, it’s the refusal of the rich to “pay their fair share” that jeopardizes Medicare. If millionaires don’t pony up, schools will crumble. Oil-drilling tax breaks are costing teachers their jobs. Corporate loopholes will gut medical research.

Obama has been blaming since the day he announced his candidacy.

He hasn't let up since he took office, either.

Every ill is someone or something else's fault -- not his.

He has probably used that tactic most of his life -- even in childhood.

Obama and his handlers know he has no chance against Herman.

The only possible way Bambi can win reelection is if he starts a wag-the-dog war or some “outlier” event such as the OK City bombing.

Libya was a cheapie. Next up, Iran?

The Big Question now is:

Does Bambi fear the Mullahs more than the Cain?

If America elects Cain it will be the beginning of the end of the democrat party.

For at least a generation. It will absolutley drive the RATs completely insane.

It took him this long to figure it out.

He ought to come here for column ideas, we have been onto this for months.

So far this protest movement is pretty small scale. Let's hope it stays that way or we could be in big trouble. When Obama won I was worried that he would try to create a Castro or Chavez-style mass movement as a step towards dictatorial rule. That hasn't happened yet but mainly because the people who would have formed such a force haven't rallied to his side.

The New Deal thought that Mussolini's policies were worth imitating (NRA and all that). Obama doesn't know much about US history but he presumably regards FDR as a model to be followed. Fascism is a left-wing disease. At this point its potential footsoldiers are a bunch of pathetic protesters--lets hope they stay that way.

Krauthammer likes alliteration: "indignant indolents" and "No postprandial plans" (after eating the rich). Spiro Agnew could have used him, if William Safire hadn't been available.

This is what the far left in this country does when they are under siege. They never apologize for their excesses. They keep a low profile and alter their message to make it more nebulous and therefore more palatable. Complain about how awful it is that congress is paid more than your average teacher (funny how the Democrats were ok with that when they had a big majority), the rent is too darn high, people are so rude these days, people should volunteer and be nice to others, blah, blah. When the grizzlies come out, they act like jackals, but they’re still predators.

“There’s always the joooooooooooos. The Left loves that old trick.”

Oddly enough, a fair number of joooooooooos seem to be okay with it too.

I think Beck is correct. As the Food Stamp President and his lackeys sink, they will produce an incident that goes violent. Whether it is one the Occupy groups, some type of war, a natural disaster or something else where he steps in and grabs power under emergency powers.

That strategy will backfire if they leave any incriminating evidence, unless the GOP goes right along.

That's called sedition. Any surprise Obama sympathised with Zelaya in 2009?

This is a manifestation of the victim mentality that infects most of black America. It is always The Man’s fault that you are put upon and can’t pull yourself up. Most American’s, fortunately, are not afflicted with the victim disease even though Democrats have been doing their best for decades to spread it far and wide. And there is virtually no other trick in the bag carried by Community Organizers — blame everybody else for your ills and stir up resentment so you can shake down some corporations.

Bamby is totally true to his roots and hasn’t matured one bit.

Ultimately, Obama, Krauthammer, and the rest of the establishment Pubbies will continue with their villain-ization of Perry, the real threat to Obama’s reelection.
