Ryan would be better because it would groom him to follow Cain as prez. He’s young enough to follow 8 years of Cain with 8 years of his own.

So we don’t take answers in debates seriously?
The question wasn’t asked for entertainment value. It was asked to provide insight into their thoughts.
Was Perry’s answer a joke? He picked Cain and Gingrich.
Guess that was hilarious too.

You appear do be convinced that only a professional politician (i.e. lawyer) can run this country.
They have run this country, practically to death.
I'm more than ready to give a non-politician the job. A business man first. Or a doctor. Or a physicist.
I've seen how well politicians run the show and I'm not impressed.

Speaking Thursday on “The Steve Gill Show,” Cain outlined the qualities he would like in a running mate, and then, unprovoked, offered specific names.
Cain’s got a long ways to go before it becomes time to select the Co-Cain slot.

If Cain can get my congressman Paul Ryan to run, he’s a genius. Cain and Ryan will rock DC to the rotten core.
Mr.Cain has more of a chance of convincing DeMint to be VP nominee and he would be a great choice as well.

Temperament wise, how is he going to handle the outright rasist abuse the democrats and MEdia types are going to heap on him? If you truly want to learn (I have my doubts)

At least he can put together sentences in a debate and he can more than hold his own.

talkin tough is often mistaken for leadership ability- thats how we got Urkel in the WH nowWrong. 0 got in because he lied and posed as a non-ideological, non-partisan reformer, and the Leftmedia and wimps in the Pubblie Party covered up his obvious commie history. 0 is actually brilliantly successful at his role, which is that of a Marxist revolutionary. He and his backers don't give a bleep whether he saves America; they want America ruined.
The President does not micromanage the nation. There are hosts of careerists in govt. who do the day-to-day operation; the POTUS sets the agenda and sells policy to the public. The idea that the President must have been a career politician like a State Governor is false. In fact, the Establishment wants a career politican precisely because it wants someone who has proven he will "play the game" of bailouts, subsidies, and paybacks. That's the exact opposite of what conservatives should want.

I agree....He’s like a 3rd party candidate..gives a good speech but....

Another great thing about Herman Cain, he is not and has never been a lawyer!

Give it a rest. Members of Congress vote on bills put before them and the GOP has been in the minority since '06. Stopping the Democrats where you can is hardly supporting more government.
If you don't understand what would have happened if AIG, (the company that insures the governments and economies of the free World) had gone under, you're too stupid to argue anything.
At least try to educate yourself.

I agree - two excellent choices. I like the way he is thinking and I am definitely ready to support that ticket.

The question was the last of the night and was a quick round robin, just for the heck of it type question. Caine joked about Romney needing to ditch his jobs plan, then said he’d pick Newt. Get over it, he was joking about your guy Romney.

I just went to wikipedia to look up DeMint’s and Ryan’s resumes, and they’re both looking good. They both have good backgrounds in business and economics. Ryan even has a bachelor degee in political science. I like that. Very nice.

I got Cheney’s book.
When I paged through the pictures section, I was disappointed to see that a picture of Hussein Obama was there on the last page.
My husband asked me to refrain from ripping that page out.
So far, the page is still there.

How about their voting records? Some posts imply Ryan isn’t all that. See #10

I don’t think so. He is projecting the mindset that he WILL be the nominee. And as such - he is way past the also rans who are still squabbling for second place.

Why would DeMint or Ryan leave powerful jobs in Congress/Senate and sign on to be a VP (bucket of warm spit) for a novice who has never won an election and knows nothing about how to work around govt bureaucracies?
You seem to suggest that Cain has no hope of beating a very weak Obama. You’re alternatively arguing that VP isn’t important, which is nonsense considering its history as stepping stone to the Oval Office.
I think you’re feigning concern for you own political reasons.

This is very impressive thinking on Cain's part! I love DeMint and believe Ryan would be a great choice too! By the way, Paul Ryan really likes Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan... http://dailycaller.com/2011/10/13/paul-ryan-loves-herman-cains-9-9-9-tax-plan/ Paul Ryan Loves Herman Cains 9-9-9 tax plan By John Rossomando 1:09 PM 10/13/2011 House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan says he loves presidential candidate Herman Cains signature 9-9-9″ tax plan. Ryan told The Daily Caller in an exclusive interview that Cains plan is a good starting point for debate, and shows the GOP presidential campaign season has entered into a more advanced stage where ideas not just personalities have come to the forefront. We need more bold ideas like this because it is specific and credible, Ryan said. Im more of a flat-tax kind of a guy. The budget chairman went on to say that ideas like Cains plan could help shape the debate over tax reform moving into 2013. Its great to see such bold ideas, Ryan told TheDC. Commenting on the sniping among the candidates and their criticism directed at Cains plan, Ryan said the entire process would make the eventual GOP nominee stronger going into the general election. Contacted by TheDC on Thursday, Herman Cains campaign was appreciative for the unexpected endorsement. I consider Paul Ryan to be one of the brightest minds in Washington, D.C., said Mark Block, Cains chief of staff, and for Congressman Ryan to embrace 9-9-9 shows that he also has the leadership to give the American public bold solutions for our current crisis. Mr. Cain looks forward to sitting down with Congressman Ryan. Dr. Art Laffer also wrote a piece praising 9-9-9, so you have two of the most respected people that are dealing with economics in America praising 9-9-9, Block added. That
speaks for itself.
