The Bush (41) people were VERY pompous in 1980, but Reagan and the Grassroots showed them a thing or two. Yes, they do live in a bubble, detached from greater GOP Reality. Well put.
Bor is of about the same caliber as Ted Baxter but Ted was much better looking.
So, no, that's not a good method at all.
That's why he can't break that aggregate 20% level. People sense this about the man whether they can articulate it or not.
But my comparison was to Eisenhower, not Reagan.
We could easily presume that Romney represents the Giuliani interest group within the Republican Party.
He also represents the Romney interest group.
Each one, by itself, is a minority. Both together are still a minority. Perry has 11% more "to give" and we have a couple of other Conservative candidates there, and if they give it all up CAIN HAS A MAJORITY OF REPUBLICAN VOTES ALREADY!
You should look it up. Check out Office of Personnel Management's website. Look up Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).
Take a look at what's happening to the wholey execrable Senator Luger ~ every Democrat senator running faces the exact same thing. They'll be begging their factions to vote in the Democrat primaries.
I heard Jeb Bush on the radio this morning and he is a really big Romney fan.
Only one thing disturbs me & I think we ALL need to send Cain the message that we are very disappointed that he went on record saying that he would consider being Romney's V.P.
Why give the RINO Romney any respectability!!!! Cain needs to reconsider this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Romney looks up to Eisenhower. But doesnt mean Romney would be another Eisenhower.
But for us conservatives, Eisenhower was a disaster.
It’s Romney’s RINO-ism not his management style that makes him unpalatable to conservatives.
” You really can’t measure a candidate according to how they manage the professional campaign people.”
Oh yes you can!
“... That’s because it is all too easy to pick up one of them who is mentally ill, actually working for the Democrats or another candidate, or who is simply dishonest.”
... this is true of cabinet picks, White House advisors etc. The MOST IMPORTANT JOB OF A PRESIDENT IS STAFFING. If you cant hire well, you will not be a good President. Period.
Bachmann even before campaign was notorious for staffing issues. She would be a poor President on that front, or at least have a ‘learning curve’.

That’s a pretty big IF. Maybe Michelle, but I doubt Perry will withdraw. Don’t know about Santoram, he may be hoping for a breakout if Bacmann quits.
A good percentage of Romney’s supporters are disaffected Democrats.
For instance do you have the slightest idea who A.B. Culvahouse was?
Jeff Larson is another prominant name. Steve Schmidt played a part in recent history ~ as a campaign aid. Then we have the slightly more famous George Stephanopoulos and Scott McClellan.
All of these people proved to some degree or the other to be incapable of doing their jobs, and in the end trashed the very people they were supposed to help. To the degree they wrote books every single one of them proved to be LESS THAN HONEST.
So, what'd I say?
That would not go over well at all with the "winning margin" in today's Reublican electorate so he would have had to have cowtowed to the Democrats like some sort of milch cow to get enough votes to win. He'd probably propose something like the Obama administration as the feel good solution.
He'd remind you more of Ezra TAFT Benson (one of his Mormon relatives) than of Ronald Reagan.
Looking at the politics of the time and the relative orientation of the broad masses of voters Eisenhower's time in office is demonstrably more Conservative than what any of the "official and blessed" Conservatives of his day could have pulled off.
That's because he was Eisenhower and he was used to OTHERS kissing his patutty, not the reverse. It would have simply never occurred to him to tolerate someone like Teddy Kennedy in a Reach Around.
By law, the starting amount of a Members retirement annuity may not exceed 80% of his or her final salary.
None of my bennies are this lush. Replace with 401K and introduce them to the wonderful world of "Rollover" on departure.
Juan still sticks up for Zero but sometimes while he’s doing it he looks like he wants to swallow his tongue.
He’s a pretty reasonable lib some of the time. I think he just might be one of them willing to cast a vote for Herman Cain!
