Cain is clearly in the lead right now in my opinion, the question is, can he stay in the lead with the spot light on him? A feet made much easier by the quality of his competition.

Then you must agree with his Global Warming plank, whereby Global Warming is your fault and you will have to pay Carbon surcharge taxes.

Newt is a one-worlder AGW supporter.

Not what I want in a president.

“The sales tax is the only type tax the founding father endorsed.”

I don’t want to be dogmatic here, but I think they only addressed “tariffs.” Which is not the same as a sales tax on a person directly buying a product - as I understand it. Whatever, the constitution was properly ammended and ratified, as the founders designed it, to allow for an income tax. So, I prefer paying income tax. Never sales tax. Too much of my income goes to buying goods I need to live.....it zaps me too much when I have to pay sales tax. That is why, because of my military ties, I shop in military commisaries and PXs whenever I can to avoid sales tax.

By the way....George Washington had to put down a rebellion on paying a “Whiskey Tax” during his administration. Even the early U.S.A. citizens didn’t like taxes.

Herman Cain has so many good things to offer the GOP and America than the 999 plan which is already DOA. He is painting himself into a corner with it...and I don’t want him to fail over it. Being a one trick pony makes you vulnerable.

Wow, you put a LOT of effort into your analysis and it’s quite interesting. I think you ought to add a couple of introductory paragraphs and repeat this as a primary post.

I can understand it after listening to the Bloomberg Q&A with the Candidates on Tuesday night. Cain more than held his own; gave as good as he got; and managed to leave Romney unable to answer a question about his own plan.

Romney couldn’t even give an outline of his plan. All he could do is say: “Simple ain’t necessarily so hot.” And Cain destroyed that argument with “If we keep pivoting off this tax system, any answer based on the old system is doomed to failure.” I agree with that.

I think Cain could be a formidable opponent against Obama. The race question surely would be back-burnered is a real sense. Not to say that left-wing, race-baiting loons wouldn’t push it, but let’s look at the 2 men for a moment.

When you think “trueblackman” do you think “Harvard Barry” or do you think “Morehouse Herman”?

O.K. Look at this from a logical standpoint.

Herman is proposing a 9% sales tax and a 9% business tax and a 9% personal income tax.

Currently, the business tax is at 35%. The personal income tax is averaged at 15.6%.

So, someone who is working for a living at 25,000 a year and currently brings home roughly 17,000 (because aside from personal income tax, there are other taxes they have to pay, even though they pay 0% after all is said and done in income taxes). The people who don’t understand the basics of the plan are getting some things wrong.

First, they would have more money coming in. The 9-9-9 plan eliminates the federal taxes except the 9% on income. So, the person making $25,000 and taking home roughly 17k would, in fact, be bringing home $22,750. That’s not speculation, that’s fact.

You state that a person would end up paying 9% tax on food, so the cost would go up 9%. The reality is, since gas taxes are so high from a federal basis, the tax on that would go down, so our cost to transport the food to the store is lower. The cost for electricity and water at the farm goes down, so the cost of the food is down. The cost of the electricity and the water at the store is down, so the price goes down. The label the slap on a cantaloupe costs less to produce, so the cost goes down. So, that 9% basically means that the overall cost of the food goes down, but not by as much as it would have if there was a 0% tax.

Transport that to houses, cars, boats, travel, clothes, computers, electronics, etc. EVERYTHING will go down in cost. That’s not a speculation, that’s a fact.

So, to say this is a “nutty” idea or a “fad” is wrong. When people get a good look at this plan, and they understand it, they will see it’s actually a great thing.

Oh, and he does have plans to trim fat from the spending. Fix Medicare and Medicaid and get rid of the excess spending.

So, please try your best to actually not base your facts on the CBS news. They are about as reliable as Obama.

“Herman’s plan would eliminate 15.3% payroll tax on that $25,000.”

I have been having some trepidation about the 999 plan and I am not sure that I understand it at all but it seems to me that 18% is higher than 15.3% am I correct? I think I am.

9% income tax AND a 9% sales tax? How is that a tax DECREASE? Do not mistake me, I am firmly in Camp Cain and literally am not bothereed by or downright like everything else he’s about but 999 is going to start buggin’ some people if the math doesn’t start adding up somehow.

I hope to God I am missing something here.

Doesn’t 999 make an assumption here? A pretty large one at that? What is to ensure that prices drop to what they should rightly be under 999?

MSM Pollsters are manipulating the polls! Nothing new here really, sad that so many otherwise intelligent Conservatives believe them.

I have been saying this for years, my candidate is not even in the race. Flipping the dials I stopped as Up Chuck Todd was foaming at the mouth while talking about this poll (means little what poll you want to talk about) the same poll that Chuck has a role in the wording of the questions.

Actually I am glad that Cain is up front in the MSM polls, just that it`s not real, but still no more real than if it was anybody else, MSM pollsters play everybody for puppets.

Just look at the same poll on Obama, they have him gaining a little traction, they have his jobs bill gaining traction.

When are people going to wake up?? There is no science in polling, in partisan political polling that is. George Gallup a wonderful Christian man and a pioneer in polling is long gone from the scene, he was the last honest pollster.

They all have an agenda now, from Fox to Ras to you name it.

MSM Pollsters in 2011 still control thought in this country.

Ron Paul to Herman Cain at Bloomberg Debate: “Spoken Like a True Insider ================================================ Rep Ron Paul, champion of the message of liberty, the U.S. Constitution and his lifelong goal of exposing then eliminating through competition the Federal Reserve System, a private cabal of international bankers, calls out Presidential candidate Herman Cain, ex-Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank in the 1990′s, in response to Cain choosing Alan Greenspan as an example of what Cain’s appointment to Fed Chair would look like should he win the presidency. In the debate, Paul can be seen shaking his head and smiling to himself as Cain gives an answer that will be the impetus to the collapse of his campaign. Paul then accurately explains that Greenspan is personally responsible for the largest artificial bubbles ever perpetrated on the American economy and the middle class workers who comprise that economy, and therefore, he is responsible for the lowered standard of living, high unemployment, rising prices, housing collapse and the recessions / depessions that followed the collapse of each of Greenspan’s artificial bubbles (NASDAQ and Housing). Dr. Paul is aware of what Cain is. Thats why Cain looks bad debating Paul. Cain shall not get passed Paul due to the fact that Paul has all the dope on Cain. Cain is NWO all the way. “Head of the FED”, KC Branch. Alan Greenspan is the greatest thing sense peanut butter? Cain has made too many enemies on both sides of the issue. He is not electable.

The Left as well as the “Moderates” in the Republican establishment don’t want Cain. They choose to IGNORE the fact that he’s ahead; thinking that if they just IGNORE someone or something, they’ll just go away because they WANT them to go away.
