On his radio program this afternoon, Rush Limbaugh said that Christie's endorsment of Romney is proof that the GOP establishment is "desperate" for Romney to be the Republican nominee.
"They're doing everything they can to make sure -- you know, Bachmann, Santorum, they're not in the top tier now, but they want to make sure they stay there." Limbaugh said, "Perry is the only genuine conservative threat to Romney, and this is an effort to take him out."
Limbaugh added that "the thinking" on Herman Cain is that he does not have enough organization or money to compete with Romney.
"They don't even want to go through the primary process. They want to force people out." Limbaugh concluded, "They want Bachmann to quit. They want Santorum to quit. They want Cain to get outta here. Well, he's not going to for a while. They want Perry to finally throw in the towel. They want everybody to realize they don't have a prayer. It's Romney."
Perry did the best that he has done in all the debates. Gingrich as usual was excellent. Santorum was ok.
Thank you Shield!
I think Rush knows that Perry is no rock-ribbed conservative. But for him it's always about winning. He believes Perry to be only one who has a chance to beat the uber-RINO Romney, and bases that the former's campaign war chest, both present and potential. I disagree with El Rushbo on that score, but I'm pretty sure that's where he's coming from.
Rush rarely pushes underdogs (like Cain or Bachmann), especially in Presidential politics. He's an establishment guy, but hopes for the most conservative establishment candidate possible. ....or more accurately, least liberal. And as far as the present establishment candidates go, he considers Perry to be that guy.
You were right...Cain DID NOT go after Romney...which proves he is Romney's man. Cain did a lot of double talk tonight. He named Greenspan which was awful...he did that because he didn't know anyone else who'd served. Cain proved he is a neophyte.
Perry’s far from perfect, but I’ll take him on our ticket over Romney by miles. Leagues. Fathoms.
A lot better then last time. Thank God.
Its still organization and money that will win the nomination in the end. Perry has both. Willard has more... 4 years of running for potus and the gop establishment behind him.

The GOP can trash the TEA Party all they want but you can bet your sweet bippy that if they nominate Milt, they’ll be busting their asses looking around for a TEA Party conservative to run on the ticket as VP.
>>>>>>You were right...Cain DID NOT go after Romney...which proves he is Romney's man.
Again, I'm not the conspiracy type, but something is definitely not kosher between those two.
romney’s problem is that he is hated by 75% or more of the populace and he will never get past that.
Rush said a few weeks ago that George W. Bush belongs on Mt. Rushmore.
I’m sorry, but I don’t care who calls Rick Perry a conservative - I’m not buying it.
Stop. I’ve seen all of the Perry propaganda before. No sale.
I can't stand watching Fox News at all anymore. I can't turn it on without some vile Romney spew coming out of their mouths!
We will stand up as a people and tell the media outlets we will NOT let them pick our candidate. And if they don't think we will do it, they can kiss our Tea Party butts!
That is an extensive list in support of conservative Rick Perry.
Thanks for posting it, AAABEST.
Post all the pics and pasted up screeds you want. I’ve made my own observations of Rick Perry and have come to my own conclusions about the man.
Don’t you know? She lied.... /s
Both of these criticisms are, at best, misplaced; at worst, they are just disingenuous.
At any rate, they are easily answerable.
Lets begin with the argument against purism. To this line, two replies are in the coming.
As for the second objection against the Tea Partiers rejection of those Republican candidates who eschew his values and convictions,
it can be dispensed with just as effortlessly as the first.
Every election seasonand at no time more so than this past seasonRepublicans pledge to reform Washington, trim down the federal government, and so forth.
Once, however, they get elected and they conduct themselves with none of the confidence and enthusiasm with which they expressed themselves on the campaign trail,
those who placed them in office are treated to one lecture after the other on the need for compromise and patience.
Well, when the Tea Partiers impatience with establishment Republican candidates intimates a Democratic victory,
he can use this same line of reasoning against his Republican critics.
My dislike for the Democratic Party is second to none, he can insist.
But in order to advance in the long run my conservative or Constitutionalist values, it may be necessary to compromise some in the short term.
For example,
