Rush: Perry the only conservative threat to Romney
The Examiner ^ | October.11,2011 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 10/11/2011 10:04:19 PM PDT by Reagan Man

On his radio program this afternoon, Rush Limbaugh said that Christie's endorsment of Romney is proof that the GOP establishment is "desperate" for Romney to be the Republican nominee.

"They're doing everything they can to make sure -- you know, Bachmann, Santorum, they're not in the top tier now, but they want to make sure they stay there." Limbaugh said, "Perry is the only genuine conservative threat to Romney, and this is an effort to take him out."

Limbaugh added that "the thinking" on Herman Cain is that he does not have enough organization or money to compete with Romney.

"They don't even want to go through the primary process. They want to force people out." Limbaugh concluded, "They want Bachmann to quit. They want Santorum to quit. They want Cain to get outta here. Well, he's not going to for a while. They want Perry to finally throw in the towel. They want everybody to realize they don't have a prayer. It's Romney."

In reality, it has now become either Cain or Gingrich. Santorum is more than acceptable to me, but he just isn't getting traction.

Then we are looking at Romney as the nominee. Lets look at the negatives of these guys:

Cain, no money, no organization, naive.

Gingrich, best debater of the bunch, but no money, no organization, always finds a way to put his foot in his mouth (remember the condemnation of Paul Ryan's budget plan). Gingrich might be a great VP choice.

Santorum just isn't catching any traction, no money.

Perry improved in this last debate. He has the money. He has the organization. He will continue to improve. If not we end up with Romney and we lose no matter who wins the general election.

While I was out for a walk I was thinking about what Romney has said about his plan for Obamacare, repealing it, and bringing it back as Romneycare with state mandates instead of federal mandates.

It suddenly occurred to me that Romney has made a deal with Obama. That’s the reason that Obama has decided to take the healthcare to the supreme court. The last ruling allowed Obama to separate the mandate from the rest of Obamacare and leave the rest standing.

Romney is a snake, a real Judas.

Woohoo! Looks like I hit paydirt. You always been this thin skinned?

You may be anonymous, but you're no stranger. You didn't invite me to anything. What you did do was post a bunch of insulting crap because a two FReepers called Rick Perry a "conservative" and a "Reagan conservative", respectively. You told the first FReeper to take his "propaganda elsewhere". When I, the second FReeper, told you to take your own advice, you said I was defiling "the name of Reagan". When I confronted you with the facts, you got all bent out of shape. That's what this is all about.

Now you want to be civil. What a joke. If you don't want to "tangle" with me, don't respond to my posts in the future. Just stop whining!

Ping me any time you come in after going for a walk!

It's possible. Romney's advisers went to DC and helped obama with his takeover of healthcare. I don't trust Romney. I think he's one of those elitists that is only interested in power and will do and say anything to get it.

I'm sticking with Perry.

You rant like one of those spoiled brats protesting on Wall Street. All bluster and fury, based on nothing. It’s embarrassing. Do us all a favor, and at least try to pretend like you’re an adult.

I couldn’t give a rat’s patootie about your infatuation with Perry. I don’t care for him, and apparently, neither do the majority of conservatives out there. He’s sinking in the polls because people are giving him a good look, and aren’t liking what they see. He’s not connecting with the electorate, and he’s not acting or sounding like a presidential candidate. People are walking away from him, as a result.

That’s the way it is, pal. You can kick and scratch at those who don’t support him all you like, but it won’t change the fact that he’s losing it. I might add that Perry supporters like you aren’t helping him any.

I haven't seen any voting record proving Perry is anti-abortion, only talk.
And you know what they say about talk...

Rush is usually on target, but his defense of GWB long after GWB moved left may have cost Rush a lot of regular listeners. I rarely hear him any more but do enjoy the program three or four hours a week.

Hey, nice temper tantrum. Congrats!

You can stop tossing out the red herrings and cease the obfuscation. IOW, can the phony indignation.

This is about YOU. Its NOT about Perry and its NOT about me either. Its about your inability to be a man and face the truth. You can hand out the crap, but you can't take it. I know you don't like to hear that and I know it ticks you off, so be it.

If you want the last word take it. Just stop wasting my time you petty little twit.

ps- Perry is a Reagan conservative to his core beliefs and convictions. If Perry loses, conservatives lose, the GOP loses and most importantly, in a Obama v Romney matchup, America will lose.

>> Perry did average.

Last night was an important step for Perry. There were no bleeding heart moments, he was relaxed in the face of Mitt’s petulance, he focused on the vital issue of energy, he emphasized the importance of self-governance, and he stood up well to WAPO’s obvious directed attack.

Perry needs to avoid the confusion of complexity, and he’ll do fine. I’m optimistic.

Thanks, because that was unusual.
Perry's too liberal for me, i.e. no fence and Illegal Aliens getting cheaper college rates than American Citizens. He's just an "Establishment Republican" pawn, introduced to the race to damage Bachmann.

No prob. I like to show the left side on occasion. Lefties HATE Rick Perry and consider him a right-wing nut. That’s at odds with the unusual notion on FR that Perry is some kind of liberal.

Heh...nice try. This has only been about YOU, finding a target to direct all of your anger and disappointment over Perry's implosion toward. Nothing more.

Like everyone else on the planet, I've got my own views (sorry!). You've got some sort of emotional problem with my views of your candidate, and you insist upon hurling juvenile ad hominems at me because you're incapable of actually engaging in an adult conversation about it.

The fact that you so quickly resort to such hysterical behavior reveals your arrested social growth. I don't know how old you are, but even if you're a septuagenarian, you rant like a spoiled child. Maybe your daddy should have taken a strap to your behind more often. You might have learned some manners.

Major projection there, skippy! Looks like you had some serious problems on the homefront when you were a youngster. May be you still have problems on the homefront. Frankly, I don't care if your dad beat you, if you wet the bed or if you dressed in your mom's cloths. Its none of my business. And I don't give a rats ass how old you are either. Even though you act like a 10 year old.

I do care when you come on FRee Republic and attacked two long time FReepers in good standing for calling their candidate Rick Perry, a fellow conservative. That is neither propaganda or an insult to anyone. Well, other then to you, that is.

I'm neither angry or hysterical. But you are mad as hell, or just mad! These temper tantrums you keep throwing must be very stressful for you. Perhaps you should see a medical professional --- a psychologist, a psychiatrist or may be a proctologist --- and get some serious medication, along with a fitting for a straight jacket.

You talk about manners and wanting your views respected. You don't deserve any respect or decency. You deserve to be scolded like the juvenile delinquent you are.

For the record, I didn’t read the little screed you just posted. I have no further use for your hysterical rants.

We’re done.

It’s a pretty arrogant strategy just counting on the RINO vote. There are plenty of gullible conservatives who would enjoy hearing some nice lies. ;p

We wouldn’t be a 1 issue voter, would we?

Seriously, Perry’s stance on illegal alien’s kids doesn’t make him a Liberal to any extent. He’s just trying to keep those children out of a life of crime and help them be productive.

What else to do have against Perry?

I reckon ol' Rushbo isn't as *smart* as a lot of those here, (who deem Perry a "RINO"). Rush needs to get with the program!

People don't read "kids". They only read "ILLEGAL ALIENS".
It IS a number one issue.
It's over for Perry. He's lost it because of his stance on "NO FENCE" and "IN-STATE TUITION".
The base will NOT tolerate it, because it's too UN-American.
Perry won't even be considered for V.P. because of it. Take a good long look, because this is the nail in Perry's coffin.
