The Articles of Faith outline 13 basic points of belief of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Prophet Joseph Smith first wrote them in a letter to John Wentworth, a newspaper editor,
in response to Mr. Wentworth's request to know what members of the Church believed.
They were subsequently published in Church periodicals.
They are now regarded as scripture and included in the Pearl of Great Price.

Stars & Stripes...Mormons have said Jesus was born of a virgin...but their leaders have repeatedly said that their God is a god of flesh & blood and that HE is the literal paternal father of Jesus -- and He is uniquely Jesus' Father in this way...IOW, they are not just talking about their belief that the Father had sex with an no-name mother goddess on Kolob and produced the spirit kid, Jesus.

Lds "apostle" Jeffrey Holland though claims forgiveness of personal sins applies to only to members of the Mormon church:
From this Holland article: Latter-day Saints believe that other aspects of Christ's gift are conditional upon obedience and diligence in keeping God's commandments. For example, while members of the human family are freely and universally given a reprieve from Adam's sin through no effort or action of their own, they are not freely and universally given a reprieve of their own sins unless they pledge faith in Christ, repent of those sins, are baptized in his name, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and confirmation into Christ's church...

The Mormon 2nd article of faith emphasizes the Mormon doctrine of men being subject to punishment for their own sins; this Mormon "jesus" doesn't serve as our Substitute [LDS second article of faith: "We believe that men will be punished for their OWN sins, and not for Adam's transgression."]
The Mormon second article of faith, therefore, is a half-truth and a false gospel. Men who do not place their faith in the true Jesus Christ will indeed die in their sins; beyond that, Jesus' blood covers the sin of others. The flip side of the Mormon 2nd article of faith is that the Mormon jesus was simply punished for Adam's sin to release us to "free agency."
Also, the Mormon leaders accuse Jesus of having rather anemic blood:
"Joseph Smith taught that there were certain sins so grievous that man may commit, that they will place the transgressors beyond the power of the atonement of Christ. If these offenses are committed, then the blood of Christ will not cleanse them from their sins even though they repent. Therefore their only hope is to have their own blood shed to atone, as far as possible, in their behalf. This is scriptural doctrine, and is taught in all the standard works of the Church." (Joseph Fielding Smith, "Doctrines of Salvation, vol.1 , p. 135)
"Man may commit certain grievous sins--according to his light and knowledge--that will place him beyond the reach of the atoning blood of Christ. If then he would be save he must make sacrifice of his own life to atone-- so far as in his power lies -- for that sin, for the blood of Christ alone under certain circumstances will not avail." (Lds "apostle" Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 93).
So much for the power of Christ's blood to cover sins per Mormonism.
Well, let's apply that logic to all those angels and to Lucifer who became demons. Would you say: "We hae a good God who would never let the trickery of Lucifer take angels from his presence"??? No???
Then be consistent.
Christ trumps the Book of Mormon and brings redemption to all who believe in him.
Tell me something. Why did Jesus say in His prayer to His father, as He was defining eternal life, that you have to believe in "the only true God"??? (John 17:3)
Doesn't that mean if you believe that the head god for this planet started off as a man that you don't believe in the only true god...especially given that Mormons believe in many gods?
If God works, to cause the seductive words of Joseph Smith, to lead men to Christ, that is a good thing.
So God sanctions all the false prophets who have ever lived as a "good thing?"

The Founders of the United States of America believed that each man has equal authority over his own individual life and the “individual right of conscience” must be protected and defended.
“Thus they declared the following principle as the foundation of their political union. They said:
” We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
The founders also believed that this concept of equal authority was taught in the Bible. They used Sir Walter Blackstones Commentary on Law to explain and illustrate this Biblical concept.
The following is from Blackstone’s “Commentary on Law” concerning the equality of mankind at creation:
“If man were to live in a state of nature, unconnected with other individuals, there would be no occasion for any other laws, than the law of nature, and the law of God. Neither could any other law possibly exist; for a law always supposes some superior who is to make it; and in a state of nature we are all equal, without any other superior but him who is also the author of our being.” ....
...For our founders, one mans liberty did not rest upon another mans conscience.
Each citizen had the right to program his conscience according to the standards he felt were true and to live his life as his conscience dictated in his pursuit for happiness.
Again Blackstone speaks on the subject of pursuing happiness.
“For he (God) has so intimately connected, so inseparably inter-woven the laws of eternal justice with the happiness of each individual that the latter cannot be attained but by observing the former; and, if the former be punctually obeyed, it cannnot but induce the latter.”
They believed that God gave life to all men and with that life the ___opportunity___ to follow him.
As believers, they believed that they had a responsibility to protect the lives and liberties of their fellow Americans against all tyranny and that ___each [individual] citizen should have the right..to pursue happiness ____according to the dictates of his own conscience____. ....
Rights of Conscience is the foundation of American Politics.
Many Christians in America were worried at the time when the U.S. Constitution was passed and feared that their right to let God govern their conscience might be replaced by the authority given to Congress as the U.S. Constitution was ratified. Thomas Jefferson was aware of their concerns and wrote the following:
___”No provision in our Constitution ought to be dearer to man than that which protects the rights of conscience against the power of its public functionaries.____..”
