Good point- and it’s a good thing for more and more people to abandon the psychic energy it takes to polish the hopeychangey fantasy.

it offers a clinical display of the development of narcissistic rage when supply and adulation are withheld.

More than anything, Narcissists fear abandonment (loss of supply).

The moment that really struck me was on the night of the election. In Chicago, he comes on stage with his family. They stand and wave for a bit; and, then he sends them off the stage and he stands there alone, soaking up all the adulation.

In all my years of watching politics, I have seen this scene dozens of times. I have, however, never seen the candidate shoo his family off the stage so that he can be admired all by himself. That one act spoke volumns to me about this man.

Behavior that fans approve of and bystanders don't notice when you're victorious can start to look strange when you're losing.
