You are obviously referring only to North Carolina, not the USA.
I am from Memphis, one of the top Barbecue cities in the US.
We are traditionally vinegar based.
Tomato based would be faux barbecue to us, but to each his own.

This poll is worth less than worthless.
The Left, in their fact-free world, substitutes shittily done polls for facts and news.
he won’t win NC, he won’t win VA.. Their internals have him dragging the democrats down in just about every twist and turn. This is why they loosed the dogs this past month.
He’s in line to lead the party to the single worst defeat in electoral history and they need to do whatever they can to suppress the vote, especially the military and divide the opposition using any means necessary. They have the media, they have the guilt riddled idle rich and they have the unwitting assistance of the useful idiots that “won’t vote for this republican because (insert mindless, stupid reason here)...”
They wish to do more damage to our country in the next 14 months than the Soviets, Chinese, Germans, Japanese and all that wished ill on us since our inception combined.

That is a misconception. A squirt of ketchup into 12 oz of vinegar, pepper flakes and other spices is not a “base”.

Obviously the majority of those polled live in or east of Rawlee.
They probably took the poll someplace like RTP, or Chapel Hill, or Asheville, or some like place that is either 100% black, 100% liberal college town, or 100% filled with invaders from the commie states up north.
Perry is right about Carolina-style BBQ, it does taste pretty bad.

But then, beef is the only true BBQ meat. Pork is an unholy abomination to all things BBQ.
And chicken is just... meh.
