Cass Elliott was a huge fan of Rodgers and Hart, and the Mamas and the Papas did a number of songs from their songbook. The one that is the most striking is “My Heart Stood Still”. They turned it into an anthem. Michelle thought the group never topped it. Lou Adler’s production is superb.
