In news sure to inject shock and awe into the Republican political primary season, a Zogby poll released Thursday showed Herman Cain leading the Republican field, topping former front-runner Mitt Romney by an astonishing 20 points. Cain would also narrowly edge out Obama in a general election, the poll found, by a 4644 margin.
Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, would lose by a point to the president, 40 percent to 41 percent. Texas governor Rick Perry, who has slipped in the polls of late, would lose to the president 45 percent to 40 percent.
The poll found that 38 percent of Republican primary voters said they would vote for Cain if the primary were held today. Eighteen percent said they would throw their support to Romney, while 12 percent each said they would vote for Perry and Texas congressman Ron Paul. No other candidate attracted double-digit support.

DONE
I agree that he has handled himself very well, but it’s going to get really ugly if he is the nominee. He’s already been called a racist. All I’m saying is that he isn’t going to get any slack from the media and lib’s just because he’s black.
Sarah will support whoever will help her get paid. That isn’t Cain.
We'll see how big a threat Cain is to the dims by the smear machine attack rates.
And I'm patiently waiting for a Sharpton or Jackson to label Cain as a sellout, Uncle Tom, whatever.
>>While color plays no part in my politics...I do have to say there would be some sweet justice in a Cain-Obama matchup.<<
Count me as a Palin supporter who’s glad to see Cain taking off. I think Palin held off not wanting to split the anti-Romney vote, and would have entered if Romney started to show signs of breaking above the 25-30% he’s been stuck at forever. When Perry took off, and now Cain, she’d just make things more difficult for those of us who are Anyone-but-Romney Republicans.
I want someone like Palin or Cain or Perry to take on Obama...if it’s a successful black person, well, that’s just an added bonus for me in terms of making the election more fun to watch.
However, for the black families that have been progressively destroyed by liberal policies over the past several decades, Herman Cain could be the best thing that ever happened to them. Seriously. And that shouldn’t be overlooked.
So, I think it’s important that we treat his candidacy for what it might well be...a chance to restore the black family to what it once was...and can be again, with the right leadership. And in that regard, it’s hard to imagine a better candidate than Herman Cain.
And Hispanic families are likely to see something in him too. He could well be their chance to escape the fate suffered by black families upon whom Democrats have lavished so much attention, as those same Democrats turn their misguided efforts upon the Hispanic population.
The only time MSM attacks work is when the attacked party fears them and is either ineffective in answering the charge or else offers no answer at all. Cain is fearless and outspoken. Every time he’s attacked, he will smile and counter the charge. It is a tried and true strategy, and more Republicans should learn to do it.
You must not live in Texas. Perry is an empty suit. He couldn’t deliver a pizza if his life depended on it.
Cain thinks he’ll get 1/3 of the Black vote. The third not brainwashed.
Actually Obama is African AND American. Mr. Cain is all American all the way back to his slave roots. Obama’s ancestors SOLD Mr. Cain’s ancestors...more or less.
However:
BE CAREFUL!Note tagline!THE DEMOCRATS WILL DO ANYTHING TO STOP HERMAN CAIN!
THE SITUATION IS DANGEROUS!
She says no mas, and Conservatives basically said we ain't going anywhere, deal with us we still will back a real conservative not Mitt Obamney.
All of those mentioned above are gonna be reaching for this real soon. I don't mean to count my chickens before they hatch but payback is lookin' like a real Beeotch.....
He may not be the "prettiest" guy in the race and he is black. IMO he is also the most qualified.
Obama’s father was half black half arab.
Barry is less than half black.
Looks like we know where the Tea Party went post-Palin.

This briefly addresses both Obamacare and illegal aliens.
Cain, as a private citizen/candidate is on a book tour/campaign; while Obama, a tax-paid elected official is on a campaign tour INSTEAD OF WORKING ON THE NATION’S PROBLEMS!!!!!!
Good cartoon--two crowds in front of speech givers, one in front of Palin and one in front of Cain. Another scene shows Sarah's announcement. Next is lots of scramble, scramble. Last scene shows everyone in front of Mr. Cain.
