“The muted GOP reaction to Sarah Palins departure from the Republican presidential field Wednesday suggests the party had moved on months ago.”
It could also suggest that her supporters wanted her to run for president more than being a kingmaker.
With her departure announcement yesterday, that huge noise was a collective sigh of relief — from the Republican elites.
Their next order of business will be to contain Cain.
If Romney is the nominee, okay — they can live with him or another Obama term. They tend to like the status quo — and the Republicans will probably gain the Senate, so they can control much of the agenda even without taking the White House.
Ben Smith is an idiot.
She would have made the debates worth watching. Hopefully she can help to keep Romney away from DC.
I’m still stunned by this.
If she never appears on tv again, I would not care.
She needs to go spend time with her beautiful family. Perhaps if she had been around watching her kids instead of being gov., Bristol would have made better choices in her life.
Every time she is on tv or radio , all cheery, like nothing ever happened, it is more salt on our wounds.
Just go away Sarah. Just go away.
A media simpleton from Politico missing the irony of of his umpteen article about Palin, declaring the media is moving on.
If he's serious about no longer covering Palin , Ben can finally start to type with both of his hands.
Perhaps we can now “Move On”.
She's a force of nature, but she didn't looked as well in the last interview I saw as she has in the past.
The “Palin-media complex”? Uh...sure, Ben.
Not a Palin hater, but I believe she made the right decision. She’s not ready....yet.
I do think she should have made this decision much sooner, however.
Cain taking a month off will benefit him immensely, if he uses the time to strengthen his campaign staff and sharpen his message. He clearly is the best viable candidate we have left, as conservatives, and a good look at his resume and life’s experiences shows me that he is the most qualified person running, in either party.
And at the risk of getting flamed, I will state the obvious...he is VASTLY more qualified for POTUS than Palin.
The Andrew Sullivan quote reminds me a lot of all the people here who are happy she’s not running. Look who you’re aligning yourselves with.
Meanwhile, helping to prevent the community agitating marxist from getting his hands on power was one of our guiding goals once we realized the MSM was never going to do it. We lost vast tracts of time and not a few t-cells trying to understand and expose this obamination fraud and alas and tragedy for our nation that this monstrous horror saga is not over yet for another year and a half. Just thinking that he and his hyenas minions WILL NOT be a threat to this country very soon is a huge psychic relief if you care about America and the world.
Well, I haven’t been commenting on these threads. Unfortunately, I don’t see any other candidate who can match her as a person who could straighten our country back out.
It’s the biggest job any American President has ever faced, at least since the Civil War, and I don’t think any of the others are up to the job.
Well, we’ll just have to see what happens next. We do what we can. May God come to the aid of our country.
It’s for the best. Palin has many admirable qualities, and I myself turned from a strong critic to someone who admitted I’d misjudged and underestimated her in some ways, but I still hold to a few positions. One, she ducked heavy fire by ditching her elected office in Alaska, which augured poorly for her ability to handle with excellence the toughest job in the world, and, two, she has serious family issues, namely one child, or possibly two, that have demonstrated immaturity, self-centeredness, foot-in-mouth disease, and a dismaying appetite for the spotlight that would feed the scandal beast continually while Mom was in office.
Let the Palins make their millions, but please, let them spare us the drama of a Palin White House.
In the dictionary, the word Obama brown- noser is followed by a picture of Ben Smith.
Politico is a den of cowards, liars and Obama whores without the slightest chance of redemption. Ever!
They don’t learn do they? Nothing can hurt Sarah Palin. She IS kryptonite.
She gets to go home and love her family. The GOP establishment gets to try to make a success out of what right now is Herman Cain and a mess. The political press has to make the whole thing sound interesting. I know who I think is winning here, and I mean really winning, not just “Hi, I’m Charlie Sheen, and I have no new job to go to but I just did a Tony Montana faceplant in a mound of blow on the way out the door to the TV interview so I’m” winning.
