NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Many of the Occupy Wall Street protesters might not realize it, but they got really lucky when they elected to gather at Zuccotti Park in downtown Manhattan.
Contrary to what most people think, the park isn't a public space; it's actually privately owned by Brookfield Office Properties, which has approximately 18 million square feet in Manhattan, including the World Financial Center. And that's why the group has been able to stay there for 20 days.

People need to contact the Property Owners and complain. And demand they pay for the increased police needed.
Even while they're bashing the capitaslists, they're still living off them! They're STILL getting free handouts!
The company should charge them for back rent. I would.
Good point. The property owners insurance has to cover anything that goes wrong, too. If we only knew who they were insured by.......

Lucky?!?
Oh for heaven’s sake, any group that has a newspaper and a bank account set up after this short of a time aren’t lucky. They are planned.
Soros is a stock holder in the Property Company,
Whoa!!!! Good catch.
Wonder if Glenn Beck knows about Spooky Dude owning the park where the protestors are.
Need to email him...

The property owner is probably afraid of bricks or worse thrown through their windows if they take action. Now that SEIU etc. have joined the battle, the property owner’s lawyers might find a target with money. But with Holder and company intervening to help their ideological and racial brethren, all bets are off.
I threw it up on his FB page.
I don’t know if he gets anything from there but if you see it on GBTV, know that it came from you!
From another thread, I believe that if they private owners throw these useless eaters off of their property, they could lose their tax break on the property because while it is private property, it is designated for public use.
Nice catch 22.
Can’t the protesters rent something a little offshore, away from humanity - like Rat Island?

Sorry, I needed to get that out. Don't harass the property owners. They aren't doing this willingly.
A lady posted a couple of days about this: she was actually able to contact the property management company. They told her that the protesters are taking advantage of a loophole in the law. The property owners can't kick them out, and the police won't.
Other posters speculated that the city gives the owners something in exchange for maintaining a "public space", and that as long as they aren't breaking any law, they can't be removed.
The property management is looking for some rationale to do so, and was interested in any statements of violent intent. That might give them what they need to force the police to act.
I couldn't find the article, though. Anyone else remember it?
Read through the entire page. It says that Soros has sold his holdings in that country, and as of 6/30, owns 0 shares.
