Steve Jobs' estranged father, who had given up his infant son for adoption, had been hoping that his grown son would call him. That hope died today.
Abdulfattah John Jandali had emailed his son a few times in a tentative effort to make contact. The father never called the son because he feared Jobs would think the dad who had given him up was now after his fortune.
And Jobs never responded to his father's emails.
"I really don't have anything to say," Jandali, vice president at Boomtown Hotel Casino in Reno, Nev., told the International Business Times.
Jandali, a Syrian immigrant, had been quoted by the New York Post recently saying he didn't know until just a few years ago that the baby he and his ex-wife, Joanne Simpson, gave up grew to be Apple's CEO.
Jandali told the Post that had it been his choice, he would have kept the baby. But Simpson's father did not approve of her marrying a Syrian, so she moved to San Francisco to have the baby alone and give him up for adoption.

Maybe because JOBS had REAL parents???? When a child is given up for adoption, I don’t believe the parents have the RIGHT to go looking for them....it should be the other way around....sounds like Jobs didn’t want that.

Steve almost did the same thing with his first daughter, even denying paternity, but eventually they did reconcile.

Absolutely.....Imagine how many “jobs” we have lost.

Look what happens when you rescue a mind from Islam. On the flip side of that, can you imagine the destruction, suffering, and tyranny that could have been unleashed if Jobs used his mind for Jihad? We'd have a second Khalid Sheik Muhamed on our hands.

it sounds though as if this gentleman was highly respectful of Jobs’ adoptive parents.
To: goodnesswins
His adoptive parents were Clara and Paul Jobs. Clara (Hagopian) Jobs is of Armenian descent, so it’s a fascinating story.

Dad’s a wimp. He should have called his son, not waited and then whined. So easy to be a victim. He GUESSED what Steve Jobs might think IF he called. You cannot make decisions based on assumptions about another person, or about fear of what might happen.
Whiny.

Not all Syrians are Muslims. Lots of Syrians and Lebanese live in my area, because they settled around a Maronite Catholic Church nearby. St. Maron was a monk from what is now a part of Syria.

The name “John” would indicate he is a Christian. There is a large Christian minority population (10%) in Syria. Mostly Orthodox but I had a distributor in Aleppo many years ago whose family was originally Lebanese and Maronite Catholic.

I dunno, sounds like he wanted the child. Or do you just not believe him?

I read about this a few weeks ago. A real shame Steve Jobs never called his biological father. It's a bad sign of a crazy streak Jobs had. On a practical level Jobs and his children need to know grandad in case of inherited medical problems.
Yeah ol Stevie was so driven he refused to make an old man happy, the old man who brought him into this world. The man who is also the biological father of famous author Mona Simpson.
