NC family of al-Qaida propagandist 'appalled' at US government

Charlotte, N.C. — The North Carolina family of the al-Qaida propagandist killed last week in a U.S. airstrike claimed in a statement that the 25-year-old was a law-abiding U.S. citizen who was assassinated by the American government.

The family of Samir Khan issued the statement Wednesday, The Charlotte Observer reported (http://bit.ly/qADHFO). The U.S. government hasn't "contacted us with any news about the recovery of our son's remains, nor offered us any condolences," the statement read.

"As a result," the family added, "we feel appalled by the indifference shown to us by our government."
