Talk about your Monday from hell. Not only did Bridgett Nickerson Boyd's car break down on her way to work, but when she pulled over to the side of the freeway, a sheriff's deputy named Mark Goad pulled behind her, wrote her a ticket for driving on the shoulder, decided to arrest her, followed her to the hospital when her suddenly racing heart prompted a call to paramedics, then took her into custody again after she was treated by doctors and finally drove her to jail.
To make matters worse, Boyd claims in a lawsuit that the handcuffs were put on her wrists painfully tight and that she was forced to listen to conservative broadcaster Rush Limbaugh "make derogatory comments about black people" all the way to the jail. Boyd is African-American.

Its easy enough to check the show transcripts from the date she was arrested. I hope they do because this smells like Crystal Mangum and Tawana Brawley.

HEE HEE: this is so funny, I love it. Poor woman was getting a FREE education and she didn't even realize it.
I often work on my rental properties myself, and always have the radio tuned to RUSH, in walks a black or a YUT who I know would be a liberal, or I have a black repairman there, they have to listen. ROFL.
It's my radio, and my space.

I think if I broke down and got a ticket for driving on the shoulder, I would get pretty belligerant too! Some of these cops get badge heavy and forget who they work for.

Hey I can relate and sympathize with this woman.
Hitchhiking in 1971 I was picked up in Santa Barbara and rode with a guy all the way to San Luis Obispo, his 8-track tape play was stuck on one track and I listened to the same four Ringo Starr songs the whole trip. It was a traumatic experience that haunts me to this day.

She didn't "move to the shoulder". Actually reading the article you find that she was driving on the shoulder (which isn't legal, especially in a car laying down a smoke screen for all the other cars on the highway). You make it sound like he pulled up behind a disabled car and arrested the "poor woman".

My guess is that the officer pulled over to help her and found out she had warrants.

Count yourself lucky. Had that happened about 6 years later, you could’ve been stuck listening to the Bay City Rollers.

It’s possible, by then why would the magistrate dismiss the whole case? If she had outstanding warrants, I don’t think that would happen. But it is a possibility.

The cruiser video may also have the Rush program on in the background. Pull transcripts from the times in question. That's a good idea but a number of stations across the country don't carry the program live. Her 'exposure' could have been from a taped program. Still...easy enough to make inquiries IF one knows the station doing the broadcast.

forced to listen to conservative broadcaster Rush Limbaugh "make derogatory comments about black people" I seriously doubt Rush did this. She appears overly sensitive.
It is pretty funny, though, that she sued over this.
