No, it's the truth. And it's about damn time somebody said it.
someone needed to say it.
Way to go Cain.
WHY YOU NOT A MILLIONAIRE?
Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs is doing a commercial here in Alabama. It was on yesterday and he basically said: LEARN A SKILL, PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE WORKFORCE, EDUCATE YOURSELF IN THE TRADES. If you are not college material and there are lots that are not, then learn a marketable skill, one that can get you a job. Flipping burgers will only get you a flipping burgers for a living type job.
What a CONCEPT!
The "Affirmative Action" and "Nanny State" crowd is gonna really be polarized now!
well it is easy for him to say.
IBTZ?
Those who voted for the moron brought this on every American. I believe this is a sound bite Cain would modify, I will vote for him if nominated.
They’ll need someone to donate some mirrors first.
Get a fricken job!
Simple and true!
“I don’t understand these demonstrations and what is it that they’re looking for”
...they don’t know either Mr Cain. I love this guy though. You can rest assured that every other GOP candidate would have some excuse for these idiots to storm Wall Street and they’d stammer out some reasoning behind it. This guy tells it like it is!!
Liberals disagree.
They say it’s solely Obama’s fault.
Well said Mr. Cain, very well said. More conservatives need to call out these lazy, selfish vermin camping out in our city parks.
Why he missed a chance to explain Obama, Reid and Pelosi’s devastation visited on the American Economy by their policies, I can’t figure.
Personal blame is only a piece of the puzzle, not the puzzle. This economy is slowly collapsing when it comes to job creation.
I thought conservatives were primed to explain that. Rush would have delivered himself of a devastatingly accurate critique of extreme Liberalism and Obama’s attempt to end America as we know it.
I’m sorry, but I agree with your comment, not those who have slammed your comment; not the word simpleminded, but the comment was way too narrow and gives our job destroying opponents a pass.
I hope Cain went on to explain what Rush would have explained, but if this is all he said...
I like Herbert Cain, but there’s a reason for the bell curve.
The truth is often very simple.
I can tell you that in a society full of people who say they want work, I can scarcely find any who will:
*provide relevant and complete information when they call about a help wanted ad (hey, call me back. Who? At what number?)
*not put stupid disqualifying things on their facebook or twitter accounts (preventing an interview in the first place (sorry, can’t give specifics without giving away identities - but think for instance about a man taking about how butt cute he is, only less nicely)
*show up at all for an interview
*show up on time for an interview
*show up for work
*call with any sufficient warning if they can not show up for work
*honor their commitments to my company
*not dishonor their name, my name, or the people with whom I contract, through stupid behavior at work
*not lie or steal
*not think quitting/failing to start after training via voice mail or text is ok
What I have found is that in general, the people I want or need do not want or need me, or have another job already, but need the work enough to add a part time gig to it.
And its not like I am offering minimum wage either.
