First on CNN: Conservative group to target Romney

"If you support the principles of the Republican Party platform, as I do, then it's important that we make sure the GOP nominates someone who has supported and fought for those principles. On almost every single important issue facing America today, Mitt Romney has fought against conservatives and Republicans. He's been a liberal on fiscal issues, a liberal on social issues, and a liberal on national security issues," says Lloyd Marcus, Chairman of Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama, in a statement to CNN.

No one here will ever get behind Mitt Romney.

If abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun-grabbing, socialist healthcare mandating, big government, constitution trampling, lying statist Mitt Romney somehow becomes the best the GOP has to offer, then it’s just proof that the GOP is no longer a conservative party and therefore I’m no longer a Republican.

Ditto Jim!

Okay, Palin is not running.

Who can beat both Romney and Obama?

Who has the best record and voice?

Perry is the only one going after Romney who we hate.

Why is that?

Perry is the Gov. of the 2nd most populous state. He is Pro-Life, Pro-Gun Rights, wants a smaller fed govt., has a good record on Tort reform, has served in the military (a good quality for a Commander in Chief) understands how govt works and how to get things done within the limitations of govt. Also, when a coyote threaten his dog he shot it. IOW, he's not some kind of green weenie.

Just take a look at Cain’s 999 plan. He’s got a hugely sweetheart deal for “enterprise zones” that amount to a combination of affirmative action and reparations.

Also, the flaw in the 999 plan is he introduces a new national tax, in this case a sales tax, and keeps a modified income tax. I can see the campaign starting right away for "fairness" meaning some pay nothing, some less than 9 and some more than 9 with no deductions.

Hey, I came to bury the Mittster, not to praise him. Settle down. All is well in conservativeville (except my #1 candidate just gracefully curtsied out of the picture. Breaks my heart, but I understand.). I guess Cain it is. Watch the jackels go nuts now. I hope he is up to it. He seems to be.

I don’t care. Perry and Romney are the same along with Obama. My 100 percent support is now with Cain who is a hero!!!! He helped bring down the liberal along with heroes Bachmann and Santorum. Good day for conservative. With the faux conservative Perry losing and Palin’s supporters going to Cain this is indeed a wonderful day.

The problem is this Romney is a socialist. There is nothing conservative about him.

Yeah but the Dream act in MA was amnesty, in TX it was for tuition. A difference. Perry has done a lot on the borders in TX. Look up his record and the laws that he has signed. Perry is a conservative and Romney is a liberal.

Rubio (even if he was qualified) would not be the running mate of Romney. Rubio is also a staunch conservative like Perry.

Perry is not a liberal he is a conservative. But of course you know that. You are either for Bachmann or Santorum or are a Dem trying to make trouble.

That is another name for black eyed susan (flower). That property was not owed by Perry, managed by Perry, or upkeep was not the responsibility of Perry. This rock was painted and turned over in the 1980’s. Perry hasn’t even hunted there in several years. The ranch is owned by a children’s home and the upkeep is their responsibility. Cain that the word was vile and Perry keeping the word on the rock was insensitive. He could have answered that he did not have all the information. So no, I won’t vote for Cain. He owes Perry an apology.

I agree with you, that Cain knew exactly what he was doing. I lost respect for him after that one.

FINNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeez, talk about the delay. We hate on our own, but we leave him...I hope it’s not not to late and we’re not just biting on his feet as he starts to run against Obama. I mean, I would probably still vote for him regardless, but we needed to get him out early and have the rest compete.

This is a good thing. With Perry’s numbers falling, and Cain’s rising, I see Cain gaining more momentum from this.

I agree. I won’t vote for Romney, Paul or Perry, might as well throw Hunstman in there, too.

I like Cain, Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich

I believe he stated something similar to that but then ruined it by continuing to state that what he did in Texas was right and calling the rest of us heartless. Major misstep.

Exactly so. In one debate he suggested that those that didn't agree with him were racist because we would deny people with 'certain sounding names'. Then in the next debate he made matters worse by calling those that disagreed, 'heartless'.

I'll write in Cain before I vote for him. I'm sure he doesn't want heartless bigots voting for him anyway.

Perry is about as conservative as Obama. I am for a real conservative....Cain! You should be banned from this site for supporting a liberal.
