Bulletin from the Bureau of Pot-Meet-Kettle: Howard Dean has declared that Tea Party Americans "are not playing with a full deck." This not merely from the man who made The Scream famous, but who in the very same segment today had a manic tongue-sticking-out moment [see screen grab] that might have scared pets and small children.
Dean also managed to get into a spirited fight with Michael Steele over Obama's 2012 prospects. Dean claims to see an Obama transformed, a candidate "on fire" who is on course to win. Steele soberly pointed to the 9.1% unemployment rate. View the video here.

Dean is trying to play pinochle with a poker deck.
Come here and say that, Howie!
“After the 2004 election we got a second term of a mediocre/bad president.”
The Congress was worse. I firmly believe that is what caused the hardline stance, I know it has with me.
NEWS FLASH!!! If Romney wins the nomination, it won't be the Tea Party that goes off the rails. It will be the entire republican party. People WILL stay home, and not only will Obambi win, but several other races that the republicans MIGHT have won will be lost because CONSERVATIVES (remember us???) chose to stay home.
Read it and weep - if the republicans continue to play "liberal lite", they will continue to lose. I mean, what's the sense in voting R when there's so little difference between R and D?
:-)
That may be slightly true. I think the Tea Party is playing with only 51 of the cards, because DEAN is playing with the only one remaining.
Well, well, Howard Dean.....just the other day, I was wondering what had happened to this escaped mental patient.
Now I know.
Spot on.
All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
Only, because, Dean and the Bolshies have half the deck up their sleeve.
Howard aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh Dean is a clown who lost his circus.
IIRC, the GOP picked up seats in 04. THEN they blew it. THEN they lost seats in 06.
The TEA party has adopted a minimum standard - which apparently is anathema to the GOP establishment.
Exactly. They want a candidate with the least experience possible.
No - They want a candidate with a minimum amount of conservatism. For many, Romney doesn’t rise to that minimal level.
If Romney wins the nomination and conservatives, who are already warning of the possibility, cannot stomach their quadrennial political seppuku, I am sure you will be more than obliging to blame those sentient enough to foresee the predictable outcome.
Right. That's exactly what Dean is saying, and I agree with him. If the Tea Party loses the primary contest, they will choose Obama over the GOP nominee. They will prove themselves to be completely off the rails bat-shirt crazy.
Normal responsible people understand that you can't always get what you want--especially in politics. They understand that when the primaries are over, you get to pick between two choices, and it usually isn't even that tough to find the better choice.
But the Tea Party is morphing into the Tantrum Party. All-or-nothing. If they do what you say, they will obliterate whatever is left of their credibility, and will force the GOP to move LEFT in search of votes. The Tantrum party will be the new libertarian party--one-percenters on the outside looking in. Pure losers.
That's what they're going to get. You know, just because you want something doesn't mean you're going to get it. If the Tea Party wants a good candidate, they should find one. In the meantime, rational people understand we have to work with what we've got.
You want a Tea Party president? Then get some Tea Party governors to serve and prove themselves. Instead they latch onto a gadfly congresswomen unfit for the Oval Office, and a pizza franchiser who couldn't win a GA primary, and they expect to win?? And then if they don't, they'll blame the winner? LOL.
No, the Tea Party isn't morphing into the tantrum party. You're bordering on the ridiculous to justify yet another leftist RINO republican. We can't afford another liberal in the White House. You would think that the repubLICKan party, since their losses in 2006, might come to the realization that the conservative majority in this country doesn't want what they've been offering. But no, they have to keep pushing the "get-along" RINO candidates because "it's their turn".
I fail to see how you would think that the republican party could possible move any farther left and not call itself the democrat party anyway, what with all the "reach-across-the-aisle" RINO idiots like McCain, Graham, and the two bimbos from New England carrying the party's banner.
The party lost me as a supporter in 2006 when they tried to force amnesty down our throats. I'm an independent conservative. If they offer a reasonable candidate, I'll vote for that candidate. If they don't, I won't. It's that simple.
The GOP is a national party, and the best they can muster is Perry and Romney. It's amazing how pathetic that is.
Meanwhile, the Tea Party can't do better than a franchiser and a gadfly congresswoman. Someone else can shake their pom-poms, talk about how any of them would be better than Obama, blah blah. I'm calling it like I see it.
All that said, for me it's a no-brainer to vote for whatever mediocrity wins the GOP nomination, whether it's the establishment mediocrity or the Tea Party mediocrity. To do otherwise, imo, is insane.
You mean you're one of the people who gave us Speaker Pelosi and Obamacare? Nice going. Good strategy.
