We “Do Not Consider Perry a Factor… We Know Who it is Who Will be Our Nominee”
Race 4 2012 ^ | October 4, 2011 | Matt Coulter

Posted on 10/05/2011 1:03:21 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Those words were spoken today by Georgette Mosbacher, RNC Finance Co-Chair and huge GOP fundraiser, after Chris Christie’s announcement. The “we” is all the big bundlers, fundraisers, and money folks who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the field to be set — and that quote represents the coalescing around Mitt Romney that is expected to happen rather quickly now. Mosbacher went on to say:

“I think tomorrow, we’ll be contacting one another and probably put something together with Romney… And I would say that the race is now Romney and Obama. Quite frankly, the enthusiasm wasn’t there at the outset. He’s less conservative than a lot of us would like. However, our first and foremost goal is to defeat Obama. And we do believe Romney, in terms of independents, will be a strong candidate. We will coalesce behind him now… the time has come to get behind him… Tomorrow I’ll be on the phone all day. Quite frankly, it’ll be easier, because now we know who it is who will be our nominee. So we will pull our Rolodexes out and get to work.”

Fellow bundler and sideline-sitter John Catsimatidis added, “I’m going to go with Mitt Romney. I don’t think Perry has it in him to do it. He’s a lot better than Sarah Palin, but not a lot lot better.”

Ouch.

In related news, Romney also scored another major fundraiser from the Draft Christie movement: Ken Langone. Langone is the founder of Home Depot and is described as a “titan” in the political money scene. He backed Rudy Giuliani in 2008, helping Giuliani out raise the other candidates. There is evidence that a great deal of the money that had sat on the sidelines so far in this race will now fall into Romney’s coffers.

Rick Perry, for his part, got the endorsement of another Draft Christie member: Gary Kirke, a west Iowa investor and casino owner who had also been sitting on the sidelines until this afternoon.

No way. Sarah’s done that - let Cain start doing something - at least he can say he did something for his country. Unless he will be too busy campaigning for Mitt.

When the Perry supporters answer the questions I have posed on a Perry thread about Perry’s issues, we can move to a Palin thread to discuss Palin’s issues about Palin.

Until then, stop trying to divert the questions I posted like a lib would. Or change your screen name to one more fitting.

Cite one example of Herman Cain whining or feeling “entitled”.

Just one.

Herman Cain is far more qualified for the Presidency than Palin and he’s NOT a politician. That’s exactly what this country needs right now.

He’s nothing but a trouble maker - if he can’t spew lies and propaganda pablum - he throws a fit and tries to intimidate. What do you think - he already kicked the cat? Wonder if he’s staying home from school today because he’s busy having a fit.

Who am I? Someone who noticed your attempts to PURGE someone that you didn't like, that's who...

Geez.

Should I follow your example?

(ZOT 'presently no screen name'!!!)

Should I? Nah, it wouldn't be right to censor you.

And you should know better, too.

The money has been backing Romney from the onset. Romney was their choice last time too for the most part (most establishment I know actually HATED McCain as much as grassroots did in 04). Romney supposedly "looks presidential" whatever the hell that means.

The one thing Romney has that impressed the big donors is elite level organization. That's what impresses the donors. He knows how to campaign. His weakness isn't his organization. Unfortunately for him - and us, his weakness is that he has more positions than John Kerry. He isn't trustworthy and because of that, he's not running away with the nomination like Bush largely did in 2000. That bothers the big money because they do not like primaries. They like coronations.

That someone pointed out that the followers of Palin exhibit some cult-like behavior is diametrically opposed to the principle of this site.

And that purging those that do not believe in her glory is the principle of this site?

Really?

Keep it honest chump! Can you do that? I'll give you a chance to correct the above statement without your mind reading attached to it - if you don't - then GET LOST and take your stench of deception with you.

I actually have a working theory that Cincinatus' Wife is actually an anti-Perry campaigner. She has almost single handedly turned a certain section of FR against Perry by a) a deluge of quasi propaganda and b) refusing to respond to simple questions about Perry (and an acerbic riposte that avoids the question is NOT a response). Which makes people wonder a lot about the candidate, and brings negative attention to him.

Spot on! CW never answers my questions about Perry's illegal immigration policies and his calling us "heartless" for not wanting to pay for illegals college education. THAT is not a conservative stance!

IOW, you won’t answer the question.

You hide behind “it’s not the appropriate forum” or “I asked you first !” and so forth.

I wonder whether somebody else has the appetite to answer the question?

It’s simple enough question: Do you support or oppose Gov. Palin’s tax-raising ways?

And BTW, this is appropriately a Palin thread as it is a Perry thread. The title of the thread, my high-priest-ish friend, relates to how the GOP elites disdain everybody who is in the “country class” as Rush would put it.

So your answer, which you don’t have the appetite to provide, would in fact be appropriate.

What is true is that Perry says he voted for GHW Bush in ‘88, and became a Republican the next year.
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2011/sep/07/legend-al-gore-and-rick-perry/

Perry didn’t “lie.” He made a joke, saying, “this was Al Gore before he invented the Internet and got to be Mr. Global Warming.”

He’s joked about Gore a lot over the years:

“”In a December 2009 speech to builders in Dallas, Perry said a lot had changed in the years since he worked on Gore’s campaign: “I certainly got religion. I think he’s gone to hell.”

“”In a 2007 speech to Californian Republicans, Perry said: “I’ve heard Al Gore talk about man-made global warming so much that I’m starting to think that his mouth is the leading source of all that supposedly deadly carbon dioxide.”””

What's wrong with you? A simple request you can't understand.

Let's do this 1st grade assignment again and see if you can get it this time.

Someone who noticed your attempts to PURGE someone that you didn't like, that's who...

Keep it honest chump! Can you do that? I'll give you a chance to correct the above statement without your mind reading attached to it

You are big on highlighted - so I did it especially for you so you don't miss it the time - you totally ignore it the first time - but you described yourself as Someone who noticed . You notice only what your want - to suite an agenda? Now chill out, read and then get busy with your assignment.

And then the Obama team will destroy Romney. They've expected him for two years now, and I am told by mole friends they have absolutely devastating ads ALREADY MADE against him.

Strapped his dog cage to the roof of his car, drove it cross country, and laughed about it.

Flip flopping

Anti 2nd-Amendment (Yes, Obama is too, but Mitt signed a ban.)

Destroyed jobs with Bain Capital.

Rommeycare

I could go on and on.

And, no, she for example supported AZ’s law, which Perry was against.

Not true; Perry only said it wouldn't work in TX.

We know full well that Perry is miserable on illegal immigration.

Again, true only if you believe all you read on FR. Perry isn't for amnesty...and a fence wouldn't work.

I suspect Palin isn’t as strong on it as I would like a candidate to be, but we have no reason to expect that she’s not at least as strong on it as any candidate in the field.

I wonder if Sarah has ever seen an illegal immigrant much less had to deal with immigration.

Again, you either purposely misstate or you are just ignorant. She got massive amounts done for AK and had the highest approval ratings that Gallup ever registered for the governor of any state.

Well, duh! Didn't the people start getting checks from the oil companies? She did good on that, IMO.

But, IIRC, Sarah endorsed Joe Miller for Alaska Senator and we know how that worked out!

Alaska had a pop. of 700,000 when Sarah was gov. and 33% of those were minorities. Houston has a pop of several million and within the city limits, 33% are whites.

In my opinion, Sarah would learn a lot being Mayor of Houston.

If she bought a house in Phoenix, she should run for Mayor.
