West Virginia too close to call

The race for Governor of West Virginia is looking more and more like a toss up, with Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin now leading Republican Bill Maloney only 47-46. Tomblin's lead was 46-40 on a poll conducted at the beginning of September and he had led by as large a margin as 33 points earlier in the year.

Good, he should be leading big time in another week or so.

A 1% democrap lead in a PPP poll means the Republican is ahead by about 5%.

West Virginia excels at disappointing conservative republicans come election day. I don’t expect anything else from them anymore.

Obama is intentionally killing the coal mining industry in West Virginia and the voters are leaning towards a democrat for governor?

These polls always lean Dhimmi so let’s hope the GOP pulls a rabbit out of the hat in West Virginia.

It looks like this race could go either way tomorrow. Maloney's biggest enemy might be the clock- given the overwhelming momentum he's had another month and you have to think he would almost definitely pull out this race. But Tomblin may yet be able to hang on by the skin of his teeth.

Not totally clear, but the last paragraph of the article appears to say they vote tomorrow. Anyone know for certain?

Election IS tomorrow, and Maloney will win..this is very BIG. it’s pretty much a referendum on Obama. West Virginians hate Obamacare, and all the EPA regs that hurt the coal mining industry. GOP has just the last few days tied Obama to the race..Tomblin won’t even say publicly if he would vote for Obama next year.

Hillbilly Mountain Syndrome I suppose?

How these morons can vote for Democrats over and over when the Democrats led by Zero, Rockefeller and Manchin are actively destroying the Coal Industry which is the lifeblood of West Virginia simply amazes me...

No wonder everyone on Jerry Springer seems to come from some mountain from West Virginia...

Yes, folks, tomorrow is the Governor special election in West Virginia. I really think this one is slanted to the Democrat!!! But.......having said that, if the Republicans pick this one up, it will be devastating for POTUS Obama!!! I do believe the Republican leadership in WV & nationwide gave it a real good shot!!! So.....Pubbies, get off your butts, do your thing, bring home the bacon, just like the good folks of all political stripes did a few weeks ago in NY-9 & NV-2 CD special “house” elections!!! The Republicans can take this seat if the Republican turnout is very strong!!! Just remember, every time you take down a Democrat, you increase the chances that Obama, the destroyer of the American Republic will be cast aside by his own Democrat Party. Democrats across the board are getting very nervous about runnng with Barack Hussein (Muslim Brotherhood - New Black Panther, Lover) Obama!!! Time to get out and vote tomorrow to save your nation, for yourselves and.....more importantly for your children!!!

I'm hopeful, but it can be a tough road from 46% to victory, considering the traditional voting habits of the electorate in state elections.

You wonder if Maloney would have won the Senate race over Manchin last year. Raese did some good things, but failed to further develop his message, and had some clunker ads swaggering around on camera.

Manchin was a very popular governor..and that commercial, when he shot a rifle, was exceptional..one of the best political ads in a long time. Yet Raese still did OK...which shows the level of discontent in WV. This time, the Dem is a buffoon...and everything is worse..jobs, economy, Obamacare, EPA..the Dems can't get their vote out...

MSNBC spin will be that votes in WV love their God and their guns...

Not sure where you’ve been for the last few years, but Republicans need a solid 5% lead to beat the Democrat Fraud Gap.

WHAT!?!? The WV GOP's cartoonish ads made South Park look like Disney of the 40's and 50's. Just as with Raese, were it not for the candidate's own personal wealth, there would be NO campaign.

The Republicans can take this seat if the Republican turnout is very strong!!!

Dems outnumber the GOP here in WV by at least 3-1, so where is this strength you speak of?

Although I WILL vote against him, a Tomblin defeat would surprise me greatly. At present, NO state-wide office is held by a Republican, so I won't get my hopes up.

A few guys out in the hollows control a lot of votes. The type that Joe Kennedy bribed back in 1960. Even Hubert, normally the sunniest of guys, was pretty sour about this stolen election.

Just a few points!!! The national Pubbie guys put $700,000.00 into the Republican campaign in the last few weeks. I am well aware of the 3 to 1 Democrat edge in voter registration, but it was exactly that way in NY-9 CD and...the Pubbie won. In addition, WV is basically a conservative leaning state. Many Democrats cross over and vote for Republicans, all the time. So....a heavy turnout for Pubbies amongst Republicans, coupled with 20% Democrat cross over spells victory. It is most likely going to go to the Democrat, but.....there is a solid chance for a Republican victory, IMHO!!! As my son always says, “Pop, you gotta be in it, to win it!!!”” “Turnout is everthing!!!” I am praying, because a Democrat loss in WV at this time is devastating to America Destroyer, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama, the worshiper of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louie Farrakhan, the Muslim Brotherhood and.....the New Black Panther Party, of Black racist bigots!!! Have faith!!!
