Like so many parents, Jessie and Cooper Odell spend their days helping their 8-year-old with homework, taking him to the park, playing football or attending church on Sundays.
But their journey to becoming a typical family was anything but routine.
"Until recently I always felt like I had to look over my back,'' said Jessie Odell, 39, a Palm Beach event planner who has cared for the boy since July and is finally able to adopt him. "God has finally given us what we've been fighting for.''

Sorry, but a "group" of adults, children with two Mommies/Two Daddies do not a family make.
Ahhh,, but what about a group that has either a single male/female configuration? Wouldn't that constitute the status of a "family? NO! If the single parent is gay, the term "family" would not, should not, apply.

Most of ‘em are whiners, miserable, and as a group they have demonstrably higher rates of depression and suicide. They are definitely not ‘gay’ so don’t get fooled into calling them that.
“Homosexual” is descriptive and accurate. It’s time to reclaim the language.

Just me, but I feel so sorry for those children to be raised in such a home.
It's not just you, I would say about 97% of moral Americans believe this is an abomination for homos & lesbians to adopt kids. I cannot imagine how messed up & dysfunctional these kids will end up, being exposed to "dad kissing & hugging the other dad" (or mom kissing & hugging the other mom"). Romans 1:18-32 clearly points out that homosexuality & lesbianism are the final degradation in reprobate human behavior & vile sin, before God completely turns them over to their own ultimate reprobate immoral behavior & consequences.
There are some statistics out there that claim these adopted children of homosexual parents are 7 times more likely to be homosexual adults than the general population - which crushes the “nature vs nurture” question.
