Don’t underestimate this movement by recalling the old SDS stuff from the 60s. Right now two of the largest unions in NYC have bought into this.the TWU and the UFT. These are people who shop at at Target, eat inWendys, watch and root for the Yankees. They are ordinary folks, like the Tea Party. At this time it’s the leadership that buy into this stuff, but if the membership and their families become involved America could look like France in te Summer of 68.

I'm not underestimating anything. The movement today is definitely linked to the earlier ones started by Obama pal Bill Ayers and his ilk.

Don’t underestimate this movement by recalling the old SDS stuff from the 60s.

From Investor's Business Daily (IBD), August 27, 2008:

"Ayers, now a tenured distinguished professor of education at UIC, works to educate teachers in socialist revolutionary ideology, urging that it be passed on to impressionable students.

One of Ayer's descriptions for a course called 'Improving Learning Environments' says prospective K-12 teachers need to 'be aware of the social and moral universe we inhabit and ... be a teacher capable of hope and struggle, outrage and action, teaching for social justice and liberation.

The Annenberg papers are quite extensive — 132 boxes containing 947 file folders with 70 linear feet of material. They undoubtedly contain more surprises regarding Obama's relationship with Ayers, one of many relationships Obama has sought to hide.'..."

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World — where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' — both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

Most of the country does not live in the Union shop. But if the teachers and other union members decide to riot in NY, if they block the streets and interfere with people doing their daily, everyday jobs, many NY’ers will get upset with them.

The unionized cities and states are going to have a problem if those unions decide to disrupt daily life. That usually leads to a backlash of some kind and the unions end up losing. Remember the recent Verizon strike. When jobs are scarce, you will find people who are willing to do the work. People don’t understand why these union people with jobs aren’t doing their work. Especially if the public has to pay their paycheck.

So let them join in. Maybe it is about time the public sector lost its unions. There are many people out there who would love to take their jobs.
