NEW YORK (AP) -- New York City police say about 500 protesters have been arrested after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours.

Police say some demonstrators spilled onto the roadway Saturday night after being told to stay on the pedestrian pathway. They face disorderly conduct and other charges. The lane has since reopened.

Occupy Wall Street demonstrators are railing against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality, among other grievances.

The group has been camped near the Financial District for two weeks and clashed with police on earlier occasions.

Earlier Saturday, two other marches went over the bridge without problems.

The people I see interviewed on NY1 (our local news station) seem like stupid rich college kids from around the country. Kids who have daddy’s credit card in their back pocket. They make a section of the city that is hard to get around in even harder for the good working people of New York. I hate them!

How do you stop the protest? Give them all a free Ipod or a flat screen tv

Thanks for the reply. I must say it amazes me that people can congregate, impede other citizens going about their business, just sit down and live there anytime they want. For a city and state with a plethora of laws this seems mighty strange. Surprised there aren't mobs protesting something in Times Square every day.

Guess when all the MBS’s and Fraud Began?

Thousands of years ago. Mankind is full of sin, and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ. But these NY idiots will never protest their own sin, which is just a evil.

I hate to burst your bubble, but this is no disorganized mess. There is a paid contingency at Wall Street who were there in the beginning as organizers, and who rotate through still. The main operators of the live stream are paid workers. How do I know this? Because I have been watching live stream since the beginning, and heard them say things to indicate this.

Further, there are “Occupy” “solidarity” groups organizing now. They already have dates set, and are mapping out venues. This has been planned and organized since before the “Arab Spring” by the same people who brought us “Arab Spring.” It was the warm-up to “America Fall” as Van Jones put it. The kinks were worked out in the middle east and they are ready to roll and fully convinced they will be successful here in America.

Your friends on facebook? They are the very people these world financier terrorists count on to get the ball rolling forward. Your friends are being used for their mindless lack of ability to think in a discerning fashion, and if you continue to believe as you are currently thinking, you too will be greatly beneficial to their “movement.”

But don’t take my word for it, take a look at these sites and figure out for yourself how “honest” this “movement is...

Look up any large town with the word “occupy” in front of it on face book. Have fun seeing how disorganized this is!

Here’s some more food for thought...the people the “protesters” are railing against are the same people who are paying the organizers to orchestrate this movement. But don’t believe me...follow the money...

You are ALMOST on the right track. It is not the entire banking industry that is at fault. It is the world financiers along with corrupt government operatives who are at fault. If this doesn’t get understood correctly, there can be no hope for our country as it stands. Blaming it all on “greedy banks” will lead to communism. And that is the hope of the world financiers who are funding the occupy movement.

Well, you can’t block sidewalks or streets. The cops have all sorts of good reasons why you can’t do certain things. They try to find a balance—they’re aware of our 1A rights. I think they do a pretty good job. They also are not supposed to take one side or the other in political disputes of course.

Exactly. But tell that to DC. They require a permit for any protest over a certain number of people, I think 20. And I’m sure other municipalities have their own little rules.

These losers should get jobs. Professional protestors that have no lives and get bored if they don’t have something to cry about.
