One of the young wordsmiths behind President Obamas oratory is leaving the administration, a crack in a close-knit speechwriting team that helped propel Obama to the White House and has played a major role in shaping his words ever since.
Adam Frankel is leaving to become executive director of Digital Promise, a new nonprofit group that will explore ways technology can be used to strengthen education.
I worked with the president on a lot of his education speeches, Frankel said in an interview Friday. So I was thinking about what I want to do and I realized that I wanted to see if I could have some kind of impact in education.
Frankel, 30, was part of the original core of campaign wunderkinds led by Jon Favreau and Ben Rhodes who toiled on speeches as Obama slogged his way past Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic primaries. Today is his last day.
At the White House, Frankels forte was speeches that involved issues of morality and history. When Obama would be called on to give a eulogy, the assignment often fell to Frankel.

I’ll wait until Ubama leaves our White House before I’ll do any celebrating.
I guess it's a hard job, writing I, me, my, mine.
There is only just so much fiction one guy can crank out...
Or “The rich must pay their fair share” over and over and over and over.
Its all in the delivery. The smug look is the most important part.
“Speechwriter”?
More like TelePrompTer programmer.
I guess he knows that he won’t have a job come Nov 2012 so is leaving the criminal in the white house..
Mr. Frankel is smart enough to know he should jump from the sinking ship before the rest of the rat pack drowns November 2012.
“...Frankels forte was speeches that involved issues of morality and history.”
If he is the one responsible for the numerous historical errors made by Obama...he definitely should NOT be going into educational work. He needs to BE educated.
As for morality, it seems that the entire administration of Obama has a severe lack in that department!
Dear leader says: “I think I’m a better speech writer than my speech writers,”
No need for this jamoke!
“a new nonprofit group that will explore ways technology can be used to strengthen education.”
Give every kid a teleprompter?
Oh quite the contrary.
The project was actually authorized in 2008 by law, and should be receiving money from the U.S. Department of Education as well as a variety of philanthropies, reported The Hill.
You ever wonder why Obama’s speeches seem so immature? This is why.
His words are shapeless, and by design. I'd be embarrassed to a PR flunky of his.
Is this the “eat your peas” guy, or the “pass the bill now” guy?
Ran out of ways to say Bush’s Fault.
Pray for America
Will he still be "perfectly clear"?
...Or is he gonna have some smudges on that?
