Exodus follows ruling upholding state's tough law cracking down on illegal immigration
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Hispanic students have started vanishing from Alabama public schools in the wake of a court ruling that upheld the state's tough new law cracking down on illegal immigration.
Education officials say scores of immigrant families have withdrawn their children from classes or kept them home this week, afraid that sending the kids to school would draw attention from authorities.
There are no precise statewide numbers. But several districts with large immigrant enrollments from small towns to large urban districts reported a sudden exodus of children of Hispanic parents, some of whom told officials they planned to leave the state to avoid trouble with the law, which requires schools to check students' immigration status.

Meanwhile Toyota has decided to move the production of a 4 cylinder engine to the Huntsville area, making it, if I heard correctly, the only plant in the US to make 4,6 and 8 cylinder engines in the same plant.
Selected over several other countries.

...some of whom told officials they planned to leave the state to avoid trouble with the law...Excellent!
This was the whole idea in the first place. I hope other states take notice.

Scores of students?
Less than 100?
It’s a major exodus!

It will have an effect on the daily census which drives subsequent year funding.

Unfortunately we have to fight our government every step of the way on this crap.
In Michigan our secretary of state is trying to purge them from the voter rolls but the INS refuses to give her the names of illegals they know are here.

Fox News is on in the other room. Will discuss this story. Whep is wondering if Alabama "went too far".
All the flippin' judge did was say that Alabama had the right to enforce the federal laws. FMAFB!!!

Yup. 30 million illegals are enough to populate some 50 congressional districts. Imagine how different America would be with 50 less democrats in congress.
