Sarah Palin: To run or not to run
TEA Party Tribune ^ | September 30, 2011 | Michael Santos

Posted on 09/30/2011 9:55:05 AM PDT by ¢ommon ¢ents

Governor Palin has said many times that you don’t need a title to make a difference. Amen to those words. Our Founding Fathers created a Republic where it was not the people with the titles and the influence who were supposed to matter the most, but rather the individual, the common man. It was “We the People,” those of us without titles, that were meant to have the power to govern our own lives. That is the American way.

<snip>

I won’t say that she is the only one that can beat President Obama, because that is not true. Many of the Republicans running have a good shot. But none of them will reverse the course that we are in. None of them recognize the existential threat that our Big Government represents to the future of this Republic as a “land of the free.” Indeed, Obama’s defeat in 2012 at the hands of any of the current GOP contenders would be nothing but a setback for the progressive movement.

I hope Palin gets in. Although I disagree with the last paragraph I quoted. I also think that Cain would at least try to turn us in a different direction.

The Republican ruling class are happy with the direction. They just want to slow down a bit.

Palin (and Cain) want to turn around.

We're well past the point where slowing down is going to help. We need to turn around now.

I also disagree with Sarah Palin about the title thing. Can Citizen Palin restore America and get us back on the right track?
Can President Palin restore America and get us back on the right track?

One would have much more influence on the country’s direction than the other I would think.

“We’re well past the point where slowing down is going to help. We need to turn around now.”

That might be the understatement of the century.

This is the BIG PROBLEM WITH PALIN.

SHE IS INDECISIVE.

WE NEED A LEADER THAT IS DECISIVE AND KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. NOT THIS “I’M NOT SURE” CRAP!

Cain/Christie 2012

Before the PDS’rs get in here, I’ll point out that she has been VERY SMART to avoid the dog-and-pony show so far.

Especially with the McGinnis Book, and this weekend’s anti-Palin movie coming out, she has no good reason to be in yet.

By waiting, she has avoided yet ANOTHER attempt by the gay left to destroy her. If she was in now, she’d be bombarded by media, demanding she confirm or deny the lies in the book, and the movie, and it would be leading the headlines right now.

Actually, unless Sarah is lying here, she is indecisive, according to her own statement.:

“Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what pundits want it to be?

Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to affect positive change that we need in this country? That’s the biggest contemplation piece in my process." — Sarah Palin

I HIGHLY DOUBT IT....

But let’s for a moment you are correct. Then it’s called being “afraid” or “gutless”.

Either way WE NEED LEADERS THAT ARE NOT “AFRAID” OR “GUTLESS”. IT IS NOT AN AMERICAN TRADITION....

So you’re saying she is staying out to avoid criticism and scrutiny?

Wow, she would *hate* the Presidency then.

Can anyone imagine Ronald Reagan saying anything REMOTELY LIKE THIS? (The "shackling" comment):

“Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what pundits want it to be?

Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to affect positive change that we need in this country? That’s the biggest contemplation piece in my process." — Sarah Palin

Speaking as someone who has donated a fair amount of $$ to SarahPAC over the years, and as recently as a couple months ago, I disagree with your conclusion.

Governor Palin says she has not made a decision. She says that over and over again, with 100% consistency and no ambiguity.

If you’re correct that she’s already made the decision, then essentially you’re calling her a liar for continuing to plainly state otherwise.

Logically speaking, she’s either a liar or she’s undecided. I don’t believe she’s a liar. It’s up to others to reach their own conclusions as to whether being undecided at this point in time makes her indecisive.

. NOT THIS “I’M NOT SURE” CRAP! Cain/Christie 2012

You prefer the decisiveness of Christie or is it just an east coast secular bias?

Taking the title of POTUS away from Obama *would* be a big difference.

Titles do matter in this regard.
