Newkirk: 'Fishing same as hunting children'
Fox News Channel (live, no link) | 9/30/11 | Newkirk

Posted on 09/30/2011 7:59:42 AM PDT by pabianice

Ingred Newkirk, founder and president of PeTA, was just interviewed on Fox. The topic was the new PeTA billboard showing a shark eating a human with the legend, "Payback is Hell."

No one will put the billboard up.

Newkirk went on to explain that humans don't think of "hunting fish" in a way that respects fish. She went on to explain that "putting a hook through the lips of a fish is the same as hooking a dog or a child" but we are not raised to understand this. She then showed a hooked cocker spaniel.

She's nuts, but receives donations of tens of millions from Hollywood tree-kissers and other pomegranates.

I’ve never tried breaded toddler, but I did have cornmeal-battered catfish last week.

Perhaps the woman from PeopleEatingTastyAnimals can elaborate on her working knowledge of child catching and cooking.

Hey Violet,

Is that the same thing as getting your insulin from a horse? Shouldn’t you and every other insulin dependent diabetic on the planet just lay down and die to prove your devotion to the cause?

Frigging hypocrite....

Thanks for the great post, I think I’ll take my boat out today and get me some supper. This article made me want fresh fish today. Snapper filets tonight. :^)

My grandmother initiated me into the American Association of Lip rippers when I was barely old enough to hold a cane pole. Since then, I have ripped the lips of many different species of fish, and occasionally my own lip when shaving.

PETA once decided to attempt a blockade of the local fishermen in the Hampton Roads area during a tournament.

They quickly called it off, wonder why?

I was just going to make the same observation. Their compassion for other creatures typically does not extend to the human baby in his/her mother's womb. So it is okay to brutality exterminate unborn children. Not only do they think nothing of it, most of this gang believes that abortion is a right and a moral good because it helps to “decrease the surplus population”, supposedly making the world a better place for all other animals.

Wow. Did they really just equate kids to fish?

What a warped way of thinking.

“My wife bought me a t-shirt that has a tree stump on it with the caption, ‘Don’t worry, I hugged it first!’

LOL! Your wife has good taste.

I live in Maine, the most heavily wooded state per capita in the nation. Logging trees is a big business here, for lumber, firewood, and pulp.

I once saw a bumper sticker here which said, “Don’t want to cut trees? Try wiping your ass with plastic!”

This way of thinking, is an unavoidable conclusion when you start from secular materialist evolutionary assumptions and pursue it to its pure application.

Yes, your “origins” assumptions DO matter.

Trees, being plants, are one of the ultimate renewable resources.

I remember reading some book to my children with my libinlaw listening in. The book stated something about “this tree is 100 years old and read for harvesting”. She got her back up, and I calmly explained the renewable nature of trees.

PETA also kills one helluvalot of animals. They claim it is more humane than keeping them alive for adoption. They were caught a few years ago dumping puppy bodies in a dumpster.

Nice crowd.
