FD2003, like his namesake implies, is on the wrong side of many issues and his posting history is quite an adventure. I strongly believe Freepers should read it before wasting their time with engaging him.

There are a few PDSers like that actually. Lots of hate toward anyone who isn’t lockstep with their proclamations and good at regurgitating liberal talking points while claiming to be Conservative.

Funny, I’d think conservatives would not resort to liberalism... Perhaps they aren’t who or what they ‘claim’ to be. I wonder why....

Patience, a few months ago it looked like it made sense for her to be in by the end of September. She’s fighting the GOP Establishment and they’re trying to put up all the barriers they can against her.

It’ll only be another week or two and it will be worth it.

“To to disparage anothers’ character in your pursuit is unacceptable.” Or... “Palin’s silly sycophants,” Pick one and go with it.

EXCELLENTLY well done, Norm! {^) Touche!!!!!!! Hoisted him on his own petard with panache!

So you believe she’s going to announce her candidacy for President of the United States from Korea?

I’d LOVE to watch that happen. Run against him as a DEM and then switch back once she got the nod. Never would, but It’d be a riot watching the MSM jumping from windows.

Ah...what a nice dream ;)

No, no, not at all. My point (and I imagine there is some debate within herself as whether to announce before or after but not during) is that I believe she will put forth her ideas on economic recovery without the encumbrance or charge that she is running for president. She is an invited speaker to a world forum and I believe she is going to make a hallmark speech. She will announce after that as my tagline says.

Am I the only one that find it ironic that in this picture Palin is showing her cards—the halmark of a bad poker player?

...there is not one single advantage to [Palin] declaring any earlier than she absolutely has to... other than people simply SAYING she should. Why should she? To make a few of you FEEL better about her? We are conservatives here. Do we FEEL or do we THINK?

AMEN. I see folks on here who claim (though I don't believe them) that they were for Palin but aren't now because they feel like she's leading them on, playing games, being indecisive. It's all about THEM -- they never stop to ask your simple, smart question: What tactical advantage would it be to her to announce now?

The answer: ZERO tactical advantage, while waiting to announce keeps the opposition off balance and OBVIOUSLY frustrates the opposition's attempts to set the time and terms of battle. Folks who don't acknowledge that, don't acknowledge it because they don't want to -- it's that simple.

Frankly, these "I used to like her but ..." FReepers should be asking: Who do they think they're kidding? Themselves? Or folks who are already predisposed against Palin who can point to these so-called used-to-like-her-but folks to bolster their flimsy pretense for objecting to her?

The issue is where do we invest our energy and treasure? The important decisions are being made NOW! Not 2 days from now, not 10 days from now, not a month from now. We have RINOmney’ers gathering steam, getting money, using their energy to get things going for McCain light. What is a Conservative to do? Wait and HOPE that Gov. Palin runs — AND can overcome her huge steamer trunk? And if she doesn’t run and romeny gets things started and has a huge, DNC-financed war chest? Oh well, she was playing “war.” And if she doesn’t run? All that potential momentum — LOST FOREVER! Gov. Palin is not HELPING anything — she is causing true Conservatives to pause, hesitate, and allow the enemy to move forward — IN OUR OWN CAMP.

Freedumb2003, that was a well-presented post. To quote a line from one of my favorite movies, "I didn't think yuh had it in yuh."

Your post reveals, IMO, someone who is fidgety, nervous, twitchy, jumpy, and prone to manipulation by the opposition. RINOomneyers would be doing what they're doing, at the same rate, no matter what the other candidates were doing.

That "huge steamer trunk" you allude to is an illusion created by the opposition -- the woman has been vetted six ways to Sunday, and in that regard, is overwhelmingly THE safest, most campaign-ready Republican we have on our side. She's tempered and proven, and is the ONLY potential Republican nominee who is.

Allowing the enemy to "move forward -- IN OUR OWN CAMP"? Or luring that enemy into making itself so increasingly repulsive that by the time Palin does what I hope she does and declares that she's in the race, our camp is ripe and CLAMORING for a truly satisfactory alternative to that RINOmneyers?

When a snake coils to strike, it looks like it's pulling away, but in fact, it is setting itself up for MAXIMUM momentum. Looks to me like that's what Palin is doing.

If she does not announce/run, so be it. But if she does, It’s going to be awful tempting to rub their noses in it.

I know. I intend to resist that temptation. Rubbing noses here would only foster enmity among those who MUST be allies. When all is said and done, we're still on the same side. It's the ol' "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you." Because I don't like having my nose rubbed in my goofs, I'm compelled to avoid rubbing others' noses in theirs.

I hear that. I'm gonna be working too hard to get our girl in the WH to worry about the "nanny-nanny-boo-boo" crap. Like the kid in the Cheerios commercial says, "That's for BAYYYYBEEEES!" LOL

A "High Name Recognition + High Negatives" candidate needs as much time as possible to change public opinion but Palin spends her time preaching to her choir.

Remember that graphic you posted a week or two back, of the hand holding up a little sign that said, "Palin is the Alaskan word for Quayle"?

Where did you get it, who created it?

WHY did you post it?

If, as you say in your tagline, defeating Obama is priority number one (and I assume the reason that trying to demoralize Palin supporters is YOUR priority number one as you've demonstrated on FR for months now, is because you believe she couldn't beat Obama), what will become priority number one if Obama is defeated in his own primary, and our nominee ends up going against someone with a whole different kind of appeal that could, for example, give Perry a very tough run for his money whereas Perry would cream Obama right now?

I remember back in 2007 when the cry of panic was, "Anybody but Hillary!" Well, they got their wish.

I think Sarah did a head-fake on Greta’s show to see if Christie would enter the race.

Seriously, the support for Paul and Romney is about 31% combined (RCP). That means 69% do not want Paul or Romney.
This 69% is waiting to vote for a conservative they trust. Perry started to attract this group, but isn’t as perfect as he first seemed. Cain is now the anti-Perry, Romney and Paul.

If Christie does not enter the race, and Palin does, it will be interesting to see how the 69% crystallizes around one of the remaining candidates. I think that once Palin decides whether to enter the race (I think she will...) then the crystallization will occur quickly and the race will be down to Romney vs. Perry, Palin and Cain.

I think Cain’s money will run out and Perry will fall behind. Then, the primaries will determine if Palin or Romney will be the candidate. I predict lots of cross-over primary voting (Operation Chaos II) and it will be a 50-50 race to the end.

FWIW.

You need to understand something about Cain. He's not a politician. He's not your usual candidate. His campaign is IN THE BLACK. He doesn't spend spend spend til it runs out. He runs his campaign like a business. The only debt he incurs (temporarily) are travel expenses which are paid within 30 days. He has seen a huge boost in donors and donations and Sept. has been his best fundraising month ever. He is getting more press and making more high-exposure TV (and radio)appearances than ever. Last night he was on Leno. Cain is in it for the long haul and has planned accordingly.
