The military, being a microcosm of the cross section of American society, has been used as a political petrie dish for a long time.

When you open the door an inch to see who’s there, the fringe elements will annonce themselves by kicking the door all the way open.

What I particularly love about all of these people who never served a day in the military re-engineering the military, is that they are always surprised at the living accommodations. I still recall Cluinton’s comments after his first election to prez and he visited an aircraft carrier - “Wow, I didn’t know they slept so close together!”

Transgenders are not banned by law, but rather by a Defense Department instruction, “Medical Standards for Appointment, Enlistment or Induction in the Military Service.”

It lists scores of medical conditions that make one ineligible, including: “Current or history of psychosexual conditions, including but not limited to transsexualism, exhibitionism, transvestism, voyeurism, and other paraphilias.”

So I guess when the homos get that verbiage eliminated, that will open up the door to pedophiles as well.

There are many lines the nation is divided on, but I think urban versus rural is perhaps the most likely primary division. The sort of policies and politics which have made this mess seem to thrive in an urban setting, so long as the rest of can feed them. That day is coming to a close.

As the mother of a Marine (who’s also a mama’s boy) I can’t begin to tell you how much this offends me. My son didn’t join the Marines to be part of a social experiment. I just don’t understand this.

Anyone not seeing this after the repeal of DADT must be blind. The repeal was all about getting their foot in the door. Now that they've succeeded it's only going to get worse. Our military as we've known it died the day DADT was repealed.
