A heckler who got into a heated exchange with Bristol Palin at a Southern California bar and restaurant last week has apologized for the incident.
Palin had just finished riding a mechanical bull at the Saddle Ranch & Chop House when Stephen Hanks shouted, "Do you ride Levi like that? Your mother's a whore."

"Having had an opportunity to view the camera footage of the incident this past Thursday ... , I have come to the conclusion that no matter what my feelings are towards Sarah Palin, I should not have expressed them towards her daughter, Bristol Palin," Hanks said in a statement released by his attorney Tuesday.
"I am very passionate about politics, and believe in equality for all Americans," Hanks continued. "I expressed my feelings in an improper manner in the heat of the moment, and allowed my emotions to get the better of me."

A statement from Hanks' attorney, Michael Gulden, denied any connection to the TV show.
"Mr. Hanks would like to clarify that, to his knowledge, this incident was not 'set up' for Bristol Palin's forthcoming reality show, as has been suggested in various media reports," Gulden said." In fact Mr. Hanks was not even aware that cameras were filming the exchange."

That means he's retired, doesn't it?
Guy wasn’t a heckler. Them’s fightin’ words. Now, time for the A$$ WHOOPIN’.
Did I miss something? You're the 23rd post and I have not read one post yet that said he should be sued........punched out, yes, but not sued.
Not much of an apology. More CYLA.
Today’s Demoncrats hate the conservatives like the Nazis hated the Jews. Give them enough power and watch the ugliness grow.
P.S.
Now, can I have a date?............
I don’t know but he hired a lawyer and is all of a sudden apoligizing. One can be sued for anything, doesn’t mean the plantiff will win but a lot of times just the threat will accomplish the intended results. In this case the Palins get a lot of publicity and sympathy for a few thousand dollars( a bargain for any politician) All the swish gets is an attorney fee.
That was the lamest, half assed, poor excuse of an “apology” I have ever heard. So basically he’s saying that all of the disgusting crap spewed out of his mouth he wished he had said to Sarah Palin instead. Yeah sure, he wouldn’t have the guts to spew that garbage to Sarah’s face, she would kick his ass from the east side to the west side. Oh and he says he had no idea that the cameras were there, so besides the fact that he’s an idiot he’s also blind?
Yep, must be a little afraid...also material for Palin’s suit against Random house as far as their book doing damage to her family...
Vanderbilt Professor Hanks is actually a different guy than the bully, who just shares the same name.
DISREGARD POST #38. POSTED IN ERROR.
;-\
Amazing that a man who works representing actors in Hollywood would claim not to have known the cameras were filming in the bar. Yeah, sure. He just wanted to act out his rage and didn’t think the video would go viral. Now he’s all scared and paranoid about consequences since he’s been caught. Typical bully. I’m not sure his actions would be considered legal assault but it’s a fine line. There can be actions taken for harassment.
Matt Dillon would simply have shot him.
Gee do you suppose someone pointed out to him what an @$$ he looked like attacking a young female the way he did. This has nothing to with “equality” and everything to do with being a bulling jerk.
What the hell hit this guy’s face, a gamma ray burst?
The question is, what is the relationship, if any, between Levi and this jerk?
I guess career student Steven was just trolling the college bar looking for fresh chicken.
Does this moron know that in the 2008 campaign, Palin’s view on gay marriage was the same as Obama and Biden? Of course not!
