Just a Headline at the moment. No story yet.
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
The excerpt said that she “upheld . . . the objection” which is a block, not a hold.
If the actual ruling says a hold, not a block, I stand corrected, although the law is unabiguous in this regard, leaving me confused as to why she would issue a hold.
Great!
This needs to be in Breaking News!
It was scrolling below my show around lunch time by the local news saying they were reviewing the 115 page ruling. I thought she struck down part and held up part but haven’t watched the news this evening.
We had our roof replaced in May and they all “looked” legal to me . . . the company even has them wear matching color t-shirts each day with the company logo . . . one day blue, one day red . . . and so on. Neighbors got their roof replaced a week or so ago .. . . when I left to run errands a few times the ONE day they were working, I didn’t hear a word of English. Some people care in who they hire and contract with and some don’t.
Which one was it? I no longer subscribe to the Huntsville Times so I missed this.
Excellent news.
Is it illegal for an employer to hire an illegal?
Hey, there are a few good ones.
Here you go for the Hsv Times article on the ruling (includes the actual summary judgement).

Actually I believe it was a Madison County Commissioner, Dale Strong, who talked about the salsa...
The goal of the Federal Judiciary is to resolve cases and controversies in accordance with the Constitution and Rule of Law without regard to how the Court's decision benefits the American people. That's one of the problems with the Lib's: If the result is unjust or causes harm, then it must be unconstitution.
» Can't prosecute those who assist unauthorized aliens. She blocked a large section that would make it against the law to conceal, harbor, transport or encourage an illegal alien to stay in Alabama. This includes portions of the law referring to landlords.
» Can't stop businesses from deducting the wages they pay to unauthorized aliens from their state taxes.
» Can't create a new protected class of workers. The new law would have allowed workers who were fired or not hired in favor of unauthorized aliens to sue employers for discrimination.
I don't agree with any of this ;(
What's the DOJ doing going all around the country spending OUR tax dollars explaining to judges why they shouldn't have to enforce immigration laws essentially.
Why can illegal aliens legally seek work in this country when their whole line of reasoning is that the got into this country by breaking at least 1 law, immigration, and probably many more. The govt is subsidising crime.
If people are being damaged by the presence of illegals stealing AMERICAN jobs, then the workers should damn well have the right to sue the employer, state and federal governments for that illegal being present and stealing an American job. It's racist not to allow the legal worker to sue.
OUr frickin tax dollars at work ;(
Yes, that part was left alone - employers face fines and closure for employing illegals. Basically the judge said that they can look for work, but you can't hire them BUT you can deduct their wages from your taxes if you do hire them. In other words, complete and utter contradiction.
And to clear up a question up thread -
The ruling did not SHOOT DOWN any part of the law. What ths ruling does is lift the STAY on the main parts of the law, allowing them to go into effect immediately, and blocked other parts from going into effect until after a full trial.
Not enough though. Especially on the Supreme Court.
Good enough reason to throw Obummer out, and elect a 60 vote majority in the Senate.
