WASHINGTON (AP) In a fiery summons to an important voting bloc, President Barack Obama told blacks on Saturday to quit crying and complaining and "put on your marching shoes" to follow him into battle for jobs and opportunity.
And though he didn't say it directly, for a second term, too.
Obama's speech to the annual awards dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus was his answer to increasingly vocal griping from black leaders that he's been giving away too much in talks with Republicans -- and not doing enough to fight black unemployment, which is nearly double the national average at 16.7 percent.
"It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y'all," Obama told an audience of some 3,000 in a darkened Washington convention center.
But he said blacks need to have faith in the future -- and understand that the fight won't be won if they don't rally to his side.
"I need your help," Obama said.

I don't know when this is going to start, or what will set it off, but it sure feels as if a lot of *cough* social unrest is going to boil over. My guess is the latest date will be election night 2012 if anybody other than Obama or Herman Cain wins. (To be clear, I am a fan of Herman Cain...I want he or Christie to be our guy.)
The underclass black in the inner cities are going to be so riled up by this creep in the WH and they will be experiencing the reduced “services” brought to us by bankrupt local/state gvts. Oakland, Chi, Philly, New Orleans, etc. This group is going to blow pretty quick here...Might be before Nov. 2012...Just needs a little spark, and who knows what that will be. I'm actually surprised some big riots didn't break out over the execution of that "innocent" cop killer.
The decay and dependency in the inner cities has got to be addressed. Time to clean up those cess pools. The flash mobs in Chi are a harbinger of things to come.
I’m goin to get me some Obama money when I march for ya.
Bang, Bang.
Keep it in your neighborhood,Bro.
He was channeling Hillary. Pathetic.
I'm almost betting he had Bloomberg on his mind at blooper time.
Or, moderate MauMau.

“It sounded like he was attempting to start a riot.”
You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet.
Wait until next summer when it becomes painfully clear that he will not step aside, and has no prayer of winning the election. When he finally realizes he’s going out the door, what do you think people like Maxine Waters, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Reverend Wright, et al, will be trying to do??
I have said this many times to friends that have common sense. I will say it hear now. You could step into a time machine today, set it for 10 million years, wait the few seconds for the “beep” timer, step out of the time machine, and the blacks would be exactly the same as when you stepped in. This is truth.
“It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y’all,” Obama told an audience of some 3,000 in a darkened Washington convention center”
oh, boy, where to start. first off, the “darkened” convention center, eh, I’ll leave that alone.
if I was a lib dim, and that pandering pos, empty suit, havard graduate tried to pull that southern drawl, listen to me my hommies BS, I would be freakin PO’d. ranks right up there with john kerry’s “can I get me a huntin license here” quote. total frauds. only they cant see it.
If his people march on Wall Street, Goldman Sachs, Citi and Morgan Stanley will be intimidated into hiring them as bankers and hedge fund traders? Or maybe just as “diversity” officers.
Especially if they bus the angry peeps up to the executive houses in Connecticut? Oh wait, done that...
as if
Yeah, put on your shoes and march with me is very “Mao”, isn’t it?
The solution with the Left is commonly to yell and 'fight'. The problem is that what they are 'fighting' is truth and simple reality.
They are so obsessed with 'fighting' everything that they forget or never get around to actually doing anything.
It is just pure and utter childishness. Nothing more than that.
The Jooos aren't going to like that.
It does not look to me as if those gals are laughing at 0bama, I'd say they are enamored by him. Did anyone faint?
I worked in an engineering group with a couple of guys who match your description. However, on occasion, when lunchtime rolled around, I'd walk into the cafeteria and see these guys hanging out with some of the black guys in manufacturing and I swear it was like watching Cybil. Completely different language AND personality. Even the manufacturing guys were intelligent and "well spoken" when dealing with them professionally. But, you put them all together by themselves? You do what you have to do, I guess...
The faces that hate America.

That speech, in content and tone, was one of desperation and anger.
He had a choice to apologize to them, sell his policies, and beg for more time, and he chose to berate them, belittle them, and worse, ASSUME their feilty. Blacks, above all, do not like being taken for granted.
The story of the 2012 election will be how even the black vote left his side. Sure, upwards of 90% of blacks who go to the polls will vote for Obama, but his problem will be turnout.
He’s embarrassing them, and they will want him off the stage in 2012, IMHO.
