"I work with some highly educated “black folk” who don’t speak with the “thug dialect”. They have a great work ethic and know what it means to earn their money."

I worked in an engineering group with a couple of guys who match your description. However, on occasion, when lunchtime rolled around, I'd walk into the cafeteria and see these guys hanging out with some of the black guys in manufacturing and I swear it was like watching Cybil. Completely different language AND personality. Even the manufacturing guys were intelligent and "well spoken" when dealing with them professionally. But, you put them all together by themselves? You do what you have to do, I guess...

I noticed similar. I was in grad school and noticed 'group behavior' in the cafeteria. I also worked in aerospace and noticed similar 'group behavior' from professional employees.
