You can’t fence 1200 miles. Perry believes in fencing in urban areas, not rural areas. Big difference. You stated that tough immigration bills got stuck in Committee. So how is that the fault of Perry. He can’t do anything until it is actually out there to be voted on. If you are from TX as I am, then you know that it wouldn’t matter what the State did on Houston, they would simply ignore it.
He did fine in the first two debates and blew one. But if you are that concerned about debating skills you could support Mitt Romney who is an experienced polished debater.
Thank Mom, but I have read HB 1403 and am aware that seeking 'legal status' is required. It would seem Perry has no idea what is in the bill he signed as he himself has said the ILLEGAL aliens wanting instate tuition must be pursuing citizenship in the state of Texas.
In the state of Texas, if you've been in the state of Texas for three years, if you're working towards your college degree, and if you are working and pursuing citizenship in the state of Texas, you pay in-state tuition there, said Perry.
As for my post, I was responding to a similar erroneous statement by this poster asserting the same line that the ILLEGAL aliens must be seeking "citizenship".
I see this lie repeated many times at FR but understand that if Perry himself says it his followers are likely to follow suit.
Better do your homework.
Maybe not. Obama has to have a teleprompter to talk to an elementary class. Not everyone is a strong debater.
The truth is that his reasoning behind it has to do with progressive emotional thinking, not any sort of logic as you are trying to use. Otherwise, Perry’s naming his opponents as “Heartless” does not fit.
Illegals cost Texas $4.7 billion
Estimate based on analysis of Census data
Texas’ illegal immigrant population is costing the state’s taxpayers more than $4.7 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration . . .

Perry clearly stated he was defending giving benefit to illegal aliens brought to the country as children, not the children of illegal aliens who are citizens. For conservatives, that may be a deal-breaker because it shows Perry is soft on illegal immigration.
Look Pal, I don’t want to get into a long winded pissin contest over all this Immigration thing, but here is the bottom line...... Immigration is a federal matter.
You cant lay all the sins of it at Rick Perrys feet.
I’m not your pal and I don’t give a rat’s ass what you want. If you repeat Perry’s lies I ill call you on it. Don’t like that? Tough.
What Horse ass shit!
You know what buddy?
I dont’ like you and you dont like me
Consider the matter noted.
Are you drunk again? Your last post was incoherent as usual.
I’m not your pal and I’m not your buddy either. And I don’t give a rat’s ass if you like me. As I said, when you lie I will call you on it. If you don’t like that don’t lie.
What did I lie about chum?

I don’t know what - “He cant do anything until it is actually out there to be voted on” - means.
If Perry desires a bill have priority he can can work closely with House Speaker Joe Straus to move that bill forward to a vote. If it survives committee hearings.. the speaker can schedule it for a vote. Or he can ignore it. Which is what happened.
The Alaska oil pipeline runs for 800+ miles across frozen semi-solid terrain a LOT tougher than the Texas border and crosses several rivers.
You’re telling me that it’s impossible to build a fence for 1200 miles through desert scrub? .....Are you serious?
I can find some old former East German border guards that will tell you you’re wrong. And they will be happy to
provide detailed plans for a fence that works.
In fact, U.S. citizens who are residents of Oklahoma and Louisianaor New York or California, or any other statewho legally enter Texas by driving or flying there are not allowed to pay in-state tuition at Texas public college
Posted by South 40 to me out of the blue, and then calling me a drunk.
Gnight chum...
Ive already posted your lie and you responded to it -- and you still ask that question? You are more incoherent than usual -- did you get a new bottle? You said...
The idea is that if we do shun these kids, who are here through no fault of their own, Kids that have demonstrated that they want to excel and who can prove that they are working on citizenship
An ILLEGAL alien cannot apply for citizenship. To say they can or even imply that that they can is a LIE.
Rick Perry lied about it too, so you're in good company.
Got a link to that chump? Or should we just chalk it up as another one of your lies?
