To listen to the recent Republican Presidential debates, you'd think illegal immigration was the biggest threat to the U.S. economy—not to mention to the rule of law, our social fabric and national security. We hate to spoil the political reverie, but the real immigration story these days is how many fewer illegal migrants are trying to get into the land of the free.
That's the news from the Department of Homeland Security, which reports that border apprehensions have dropped to their lowest level in nearly 40 years. For fiscal 2010, arrests were 463,000, down from 724,000 in 2008—a one-third decline in two years.

If there are 30 million illegals in this country its enough to create some 50 congressional districts by their mere presence alone.
Anyone who wants to look the other way may as well just be true to themselves and vote democrat. They’re about to have a permanent majority anyway.
I thought the WSJ gave up the ‘nobody cares but you’ tact some time ago, after it became clearly apparent that a great many of us do.
First of all the Pew poll doesn’t seem to separate Mexicans, from Guatemalan, Columbians or any other Central or South American country because they all come through Mexico.
How about if you just lump all the Muslims in European countries together? Think that would change the result? There have been articles about how the influx of Muslims into Germany (mostly from Turkey, but not all) has lowered the standards of the German educational system. It won’t be long before the deleterious effects of not educating immigrants shows on the German economy.
I’m not talking about the Governor all he can do is turn over all illegals to ICE. We have to get tough on illegal immigration!
This isn't settled by any stretch of the imagination.
In fact, as big a strain as they put on the social services web, the disproportionate amount of crime they commit, the likelyhood that that tens of thousands are participating in elections (and you know who they're voting for), it would be easy to argue that illegals are among the largest half dozen threats we are currently facing.

Legal immigration is a huge problem. We are being swarmed by over 100,000 legal immigrants a month, month after month. There are not enough jobs in the Obummer depression for Americans. We don’t need any more immigrants.
And while I am all for bringing in as many Werner Von Brauns as we can, the majority seem to be third worlders with about a K to 2nd grade education who don’t know what a toilet is. Not exactly the kind of immigrant pool that is going to help us retain 1st world status.

The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.977% (2010 estimate), principally due to immigration.
I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Perry's running for President - he'd better either be in favor of enforcing the law or not get elected. It's that simple.
Oh, by the way, did Perry steal tax dollars from you? Would Texas be better off with a whole lot of uneducated illegals, or more educated illegals? The concept of educating those that the feds won’t deport seems to me to be making the best of a bad situation.
No, Perry didn't steal tax dollars from ME - he stole them from Texas taxpayers. Just as the federal government does to the 53% of us Americans that actually pay taxes. Texas wouldn't be better off with a whole lot of uneducated illegals, it would be better off with NO illegals. They ain't there because they want to bust their butts for a few dollars an hour - they're there because they're getting all kinds of freebies, courtesy of the government. If Perry doesn't have the stones to denounce that, he ain't worth electing. PERIOD!
I quit donating to the Republican party back in 2006 when it was clear that the party wanted to support amnesty. Their support for amnesty is why we have the worthless communist street punk in the white house today. Why would somebody want to continue down a losing path?

One line in a debate that is up to interpretation and you want to throw the candidate under the bus, or do you just want to promote another candidate.
Focus on the real issues and the person that you are promoting, don’t just keep attacking other GOP candidates.
Is this a result of fewer attempts or worse enforcement? Fewer arrests means fewer arrests, not fewer people trying to come in.
Illegal immigrants are clogging the schools, jails and welfare programs and costing us hundreds of billions per year.
Perry has been calling for the feds to do their job, he even asked for troops on the border. That’s about all he can do.
I noticed that, too. The fact is that the feds set the rules about stopping and arresting suspected illegals.

So if Ricardo is elected President he can cast aside the bonds he was bound down by as governor and really get tough on immigration? (Even against people with different sounding names and even at the risk of being called heartless?)
They can't be sued by 'recovering' addicts under the ADA if those people are here illegally, they can't be snagged for unemployment, they can't be sued for not being 'sensitive' enough about whatever the trial lawyer comes up with...
If we hadn't created such a crappy environment to hire anyone in, maybe Americans would hire fewer Mexicans.
Nobody should be crossing the border unless they're here for a short visit, or are able to actually become a citizen of the country. Anybody that smuggles across is an INVADER. Can you not see the obvious?
That is your opinion. And, a pretty mixed up one if I might say. These ‘graduates’ cannot legally (at least not yet) hold government jobs where they need a security clearance, they, and for civilian jobs their employers would violate FEDERAL LAW on completing applications and falsely verifying citizenship.
This is additional forced taxation for ‘feel-good’ politics that have ONLY ONE AIM - to add new Demcocrat illegal voters to their rolls. You can shrug your shoulders at it, but I will not. Ever.
