While acknowledging the hard-hit black community and budding criticisms in its ranks, President Barack Obama said in a speech Saturday night to the Congressional Black Caucus that he wouldn't give up -- and urged members of the black community to join him to jump-start the still-sluggish economy.
"I expect all of you to march with me, and press on," Obama said. "... Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. We are going to press on. We've got work to do."
The unemployment rate among African-Americans is 16.7%, nearly double the national average, while 40% of black children live in poverty. Such facts have made fiscal reforms a priority for caucus members, some of whom -- most of them Democrats -- have criticized Obama for not doing enough on the issue.
They include Rep. Maxine Waters, D-California, who at a caucus "jobs' tour town hall" in Detroit this month described the unemployment rate among blacks "unconscionable." She said the strategy to fix it was unclear, adding that the caucus was "getting tired" of waiting for one.
She questioned the president's decision to focus on the Midwest during a three-day jobs bus tour in August, stating that the 3 million who live in Iowa -- and are mostly white -- are roughly equal in number to the African-Americans who are out of work. She suggested that Obama's administration seemed more keen to focus on that politically important state than on the black community.
"Are the unemployed in the African-American community, including almost 45% of its youth, as important as the people of Iowa?" she asked in the statement she released ahead of the president's speech before a joint session of Congress in which he announced his jobs plan.

330,000 northern whites were instrumental in freeing the slaves and I have yet to hear or read a statement by any liberal Negro giving thanks for the sacrifices of these men, their families and decendents. The Negro community has had ample opportunity to do so during Black History Month, Martin Luther King Day, Emancipation Day OR just any day of the years since 1865! All I hear are call for Reparations from the Negro community...apparently recognition of the deaths, wounded and suffering for the white Union soldiers, their families and posterity, who had nothing to do with Negro Slave trade is not enough!
I refrain from commenting on the Confederate deaths and suffering.
He ignored the blacks up until now. He knows they are a secure voting block no matter how badly the democrats treat them. Unfortunately, some are considering leaving the democrat plantation for greener pastors. The left never, ever, can allow that to happen. Unless they keep the blacks poor, dumbed down, and trapped in inner city cages, they'll never win another election.
So there you have it. A totally clueless POTUS addressing a constituency of clueless parasites, scolding them like little children (”Stop complaining”). This tells me he is spineless to criticism.
They got what they wanted an Lo and behold, he has not given them their wants. Not their needs, mind you, but their wants. He did not write them all a big honking reparations check or make it where they could live for free in houses they never could pay for or be declared exempt from all responsibility for their own livelihoods. The truly, truly sad part is that the welfare mentality (once a badge of dishonor) was displayed on TV and not only developed into a way of existence but then became a magnet for illegal immigrants expecting the same free ride.

Until Thug-In-Chief Obama does something to create a business-friendly America, no one's situation in life here will improve. Blacks that still support this phony deserve to live in poverty on the Democrat plantation.

Because Obama will not change. He will not learn from his mistakes. He will not grow and mature from on-the-job experience. In fact, over time, Obama will likely become a more ferocious version of who he is today.
Why? Because this is a damaged person. Obama's fate was sealed years ago growing up in his strange and poisonous family. Later on, his empty vessel was filled with the hateful bile of men like Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers.
Obama will not evolve; he will not rise to the occasion; he will not become the man he was meant to be. This is for one reason and one reason alone.
He is not capable of it.

In August, 2006 under a GOP President and Congress, black unemployment was 9.5 percent, and that was "its highest level since November 2005". So much for Democrat change.
Interesting. It seems that the Civil War had several purposes. Lincoln said many times it was to preserve the Union. Many in the South felt it was States Rights and econiomics. Slave trading was made illegal in the United States in 1808 and we were well on the way to abolishing it here. So there is no “single” reason in my mind. I feel the comment about the Confederate losses comes from a limited view of history. Or not.

Racist liberals need to have certain facts shoved down their collective throats... 1) I didn’t vote for oblidiot because he is black, but because he is a socialist. 2) I support Herman Cain because he is a solid conservative, has real world experience and success, and the man can add 2+2 and come up with 4 instead of -14$ trillion. Liberals just do not get that stupid has no color and you can’t fix stupid any more than you can polish a t*rd. But you sure can affirmative action it to the top of the bowl... but its still a t*rd.
What he really needs to do is, start talking about dress code among the “community”. Sort of like what a lot of other “African-American” notables are now unafraid to talk about, i.e. for example “pull your pants up isn’t a metaphor anymore - PLEASE, can you pull your pants up and get ready for a job?” (not my quote) ...
I guarentee you that after this fiasco of a president, no man of color will be elected to that office for at least a half-century.
