Interesting. It seems that the Civil War had several purposes. Lincoln said many times it was to preserve the Union. Many in the South felt it was States Rights and econiomics. Slave trading was made illegal in the United States in 1808 and we were well on the way to abolishing it here. So there is no “single” reason in my mind. I feel the comment about the Confederate losses comes from a limited view of history. Or not.

The reasons for the Civil War is seperate but linked.
The South felt they had the right to have slaves. They also felt the fed government had no say in what states did.
Also the South felt they were getting the short end of the stick on Taxes.
The reasons for that Civil War can be seen today. This government is doing things to day that can cause another conflict.
The western states are seeing EPA and other arms of the FEDGOV attacking land rights.
North Carolina is being told that a company cant move there because NC is a right to work state.
And now we have the ultimate thug. Obama. This man is seriously demented. His hatred seems to part of his DNA. You can tell by his choice of friends and cabinet members. Even his mate is part of it.
Obama hates white Christians and conservative Jews. He also hates people who produce wealth. He thinks that hard work alone cannot create success.
And if the GOP picks another RINO.....we will be on the road to total destruction.
