Free Republic was Tea Party before there was a Tea Party
Came aboard 12 Feb 1998. I used to feel deprived when I was away from my computer; now I can FREEP on my Blackberry with my wife driving down I-95. Can’t believe noone has mentioned A+Bert yet. Haven’t seen Dr. Raoul around for a while. FreeRepublic.com is now and has been for 13 plus years a big part of my life. Thank you Jim R. ((We met at the March for Justice.))

15 years is a long time. Thanks for providing a solid Conservative outlet for all these years. Happy anniversary. Hopefully as a 16 year anniversary present, we can throw Obummer unceremoniously out of office next year.
One of the reasons I pinged you, is that someone mentioned you up thread.
Wha-up, Dude?!
The First lady and I are trying to survive the 0bama administration. If we get through all of his policies alive, we are not going to worry about the Apocalypse.

The link I pasted is what FR uses to access your page. John’s software translates that URL address from the Perl language it’s written in and shows you the fr.com/~spunky/ URL of the page in Focus.
I always verify that the link I’m going to click on will be going to the place I expect, as much as possible. You should see it in the Status Bar display at the bottom of your browser unless you have that feature hidden or disabled. Bad move if so - allows for false pages if you don’t check in sites you don’t know.
In both IE8 and Firefox6 you have to go to “View - Toolbars”. IE calls it the ‘Status Bar’, FF calls it the Add-on Bar’. If checked it’s enabled. Hope that helps - I don’t think it’s your PC in this case.

A few years back, TankerKC’s contribution was wiped from Wikipedia. It seems to have been wiped from FR lore too.
Thank you.
Nobody can herds cats like you do. :-)
Happy Birthday to the site where life matters most. Thanks Mr. T. God Bless,
“Wow...my 7th anniversary just passed and I missed it. Its been a beautiful ride!
Thank you, sir! :”
Mine too, LUV W I would never have noticed it without your comment!
Jim, thank you for giving us all the opportunity to keep the fires of Liberty burning, and for all the Snowflakes to gather here.
Thank you for the ping, Dolly. Looking forward to catching up on all the posts!
kristinn, heartfelt thanks to you for starting this tribute to Jim and Free Republic and for all you do in our names!
Happy Anniversary Free Republic!
Don’t remember when I first found this site (Whitewater Archives(?) then).Official FReeper since October 14, 1998. Signed up so I could go to March For Justice in DC. However, I was too extremely timid to participate in the March’s social activities. Somewhere I do have some photos showing my poster, etc.
It was so reassuring to find there were others who thought as I did. And some of those threads were wonderful laugh breaks when things appeared to be going so badly (the Petunia pig pool party made me laugh so much & helped relieve my depression about our country’s direction).
I joint Freerepublic under a different name originally the day the impeachment rally was held in DC, which was if I remember correctly April 18, 1998 a Saturday. I watched the rally on TV
