FreeRepublic.com founder Jim Robinson
AKA Jim Thompson
Jim Robinson leads Free Republic's Clinton impeachment rally called the March for Justice, Washington, D.C., October 31, 1998
As featured in the Dixie Chicks documentary Shut Up and Sing
Free Republic was Tea Party before there was a Tea Party
I think they disconnected that function. I tried a number of things, but they didn’t work anymore.
Thanks for keeping the dream alive.
Began lurking @ FR July 1998, signed on in early November of that year. Attended the March for Justice rally in Washington, DC (lived in OH at the time) that beautiful fall day (Halloween) ... carried the Marine Corps banner in the parade of flags that Jim was leading. I'm way back in that procession ... somewhere.
Congratulations to Jim & Free Republic... and to all those that keep it running, also all the wonderful FReepers that make this such a great place!
The world may never know just how much you have influenced American politics for the better.
But we know.
Thank you, Jim; and Happy Anniversary!

Yes it was Ash.
I have a red, white and blue carton jammed with literally hundreds of photos, printed-out threads and memorabilia collected from thirteen years of freeping in the FR trenches. What trips down memory lane....beginning with the famous DC March for Justice, of course....and continuing with a sucession of other marches, street corner freeps, rallies, freeper fund-raising cruises, social get-togethers, Gonzo's election-night parties.....just wow!
Kudos also to my fellow soldiers-in-arms in the Florida chapters....true-blue conservatives who are among the most active in all of Freeperdom's many chapters....and from where sprang the Freeper Air Force, the Freeper Navy, not to mention the ever-dangerous but glamorous Freeper Amazon Brigade (Matchett P-I freepin' the corners in high heels, oh, yes!)
I would die without my freeper fix over coffee every morning. We don't know how blessed we are. So, happy anniversary everyone, with thanks to Jim and family....and ending with our great old rallying cry "EAGLES UP!"
(......and "EGRETS UP!" for those happy souls enjoying themselves in the warm sunshine south of the Georgia line, LOL !)
Leni
Even Hillary toasts you on this momentous occasion...
(I think -- not sure about the "Obama finger" there ;)
Happy 15th Anniversary, Jim & Crew!
Congratulations on 15 Years! God Bless you, God Bless America, and God Bless Free Republic!
My favorite memory from Free Republic is the downfall of Dan Rathers!!! And the media actually gave this website credit!!!
I'll also never forget "We have not forgotten, Gary Condit's rotten!"
Here's to another 15 years of fighting for FReedom!
Nice job, kristinn. I am proud to be here since November 1, 1998. God Bless America, Jim and all the Freepers!
Many thanks and Happy Anniversary!
A special remembrance of MrConfettiman’s post: “I was there - where were you?” that got me and others to the White House in September 1998. His sign was “Fire the Liar.”
God bless you!
Happy birthday FR! Thanks Jim for creating FreeRepublic and for all you do.
I feel like a piker, having been here since Feb, 2001.
Thanks Jim.
