The EPA should not have the power to fine anyone.

So the Sacketts went to court, only to be told the courts can't address a decision like this, as it's an administrative decision. The couple would have to meet the demands of the "compliance order" and pay the $250,000 to apply for a building permit, then challenge the eventual decision."
There it is. No one to go after. The EPA puts us into serfdom.

Welcome to Moscow!
I was late paying the sewerage bill to the tune of two weeks. The bill was $73.15. I got a letter in the mail right after I had sent the payment out that was very threatening. It said that a lien was going to be put on my house, and that our property was going to be put on a list of properties that would be sold by the tax assessors office come December 21st. I sent a rather harsh letter to the Sewerage authority and sent a complaint to the Mayor(running for re-election by the way). We got a phone call from the supervisor as soon as they opened to assure us that they weren’t going to sell our property for a $73.15 bill. My husband reiterated that it said in the letter that it was going to be sold. That is when he transferred my husband to an idiot that said that we were consistently late for years ( I would pay a week to two weeks late), so basically, if you irritate some moron in the sewerage authority enough by paying too late for their liking, they will terrorize you by threatening to sell your house to satisfy a $73.15 bill. This is how people lose their properties in this country! Over stupid things like this, backed up by ridiculous laws! God help all of us!

... a "compliance order" that the couple remove the fill they had brought in, restore the land to its native condition, plant trees every 10 feet, fence it off and let it sit for three years. The EPA must be reigned in.

Just get rid of the EPA. Send all the employees out to their parking lots to wait for recall. If not recalled in 3 days, go find work elsewhere.

If we cannot abolish the EPA- and we really DO need to- then the states should start flexing the 10th amendment and demanding that the EPA back off and that NO regulations put in place by them will be honored until the state legislators VOTE on it.
We should also be tearing after our fed representatives to take on the funding of the EPA, and its regulations.
ALL of the domestic agencies are nothing more than the executive branch’s attempt to subvert Congress. END THEM NOW!

The EPA is evil.
We have a friend who bought twenty acres in Temecula Valley, CA. Wanted to start a vineyard.
The EPA stepped in for some reason and said fine go ahead but you can only use these five acres.
He can’t access the five because the EPA chose the five that are away from any road, and he can’t cut a road across the remaining fifteen.
Just writing that sounds stupid, I read the ruling and it literally makes no sense and there is no reason given prohibiting the use.
So his twenty acres are essentially useless.
I loath the EPA.

It sounds like the first thing that this Congress should do is pass a simple law that provides that all actions by the EPA, at every level, are subject to immediate state court or federal court judicial review, without posting a bond, or paying the EPA any kind of payment. That would help a lot and would be hard for the Dems and Obama to argue against. The pass a law saying the EPA pays the attorneys fees to the winning party if the court rules against the EPA.

EPA: An unelected, flunky bureaucracy populated with radical, no-growth, Marxist, environmental nut-jobs wielding rogue powers based in junk science. A cancer on the private sector. Ultimately, the EPA is not about the environment. It is about legislating from the Executive Branch in Soviet Agency style. It has the convenient unconstitutional feature of allowing the Obama Administration to pursue an extreme global warming agenda, to make energy prices necessarily sky-rocket, and gain sweeping regulatory control over the US economy without a politically difficult vote in congress. The EPA does no damn good and should be dismantled as the next order of business after ObamaCare is repealed.

I read this and it is a case of EPA functionaries run amok. This would stop if these apparatchiks were singled out. Our society is fast approaching this. Some call them vigilantes, others call them Paladins....

America is not a free country anymore. Frog was boiled long ago.
Some people have to wait their turn to discover the reality. Won’t even unseal their own eyes, but wait for some government agent to land on them and do the job.
Others can figure it out by observation.
But almost nobody is fighting back. They line up for public schools, TSA checkpoints, photos and fingerprints, vehicle inspections, licenses, gun permits...etc., etc.
I swear they’d line up for cattlecar rides to showers.

The EPA is now like every other part of the Federal Government and it exists not to serve a particular mission,
but only to further it’s own existence.
It’s survival extinct combined with a desire to amass power too great to be overcome, even in the courts.
Pure evil.

The couple would have to meet the demands of the "compliance order" and pay the $250,000 to apply for a building permit, then challenge the eventual decision. Or they could expose themselves to $37,500 per day in fines by refusing to cooperate.
So anybody want to guess how long before the EPA's swat team raids this couple's home demanding the deed on the property? That might be funny if I was actually joking.

The EPA needs to be disbanded and all employees given pink slips. I would have no problem with having all of their managers arrested and thrown in jail for life, either.
