Santorum condemns booing of gay soldier

In an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum commented on the reaction to a question from a gay soldier at last night’s debate. “I condemn the people who booed that gay soldier,” he said. “I have to admit I seriously did not hear those boos. ... But certainly had I, I would’ve said, “Don’t do that. This man is serving our country and we are to thank him for his service.”

Exactly right. On the one hand, people just can`t seem to grasp that sayinng they weren`t booing the soldier but thequestion matters--even if so, it doesn`t matter because of the matter of decorum and esp. how the MSM will use such a response against the right.

More importantly, this is not a rally, but a debate. We`re supposedly the adult party, but people there can`t go that long without hooting their emotional responses? Let the viewers take in the candidates` responses without the editorializing from the studio audience like they`re at the Leno show. Some folks seem to think letting our message get out without emotional outbursts is a form of `silencing` but I can`t figure out how letting our side speak clealry is `silencing` anything. But some people need to feel put-upon.

booing is disgusting. I could care less what he does with his penis

In elementary schools showing it off to children, would that be okay?

The soldier had to make the point that he was a fag. Why?

Because exhibitionism and recruiting and brainwashing the youngsters are the top goal of all homosexuals.

Santoum is a good man. I have now narrowed down my field to Santorum and Cain. I really like Cain. He has the right solutions. I don’t know as much about Santorum yet.

About the same odds a kid with a heart could get on to ask a question about pre-existing conditions; 100%. He was booed for his homosexual agenda question which most Conservatives are sick of.

Pray for America

From what I could read it doesn’t look like he retracted anything. I went to the link and they had a section on winners and losers of the debate. Winners were Romney, Newt and then Santorum. There might be hope yet for inching Romney out. 9 9 9 even got mentioned in the winners list! They said to look for it to trend in searches which will help Cain.

Losers they listed Perry, Bachmann and the gchat noise that signified their time was up.

It’s irrelevant what the fag said. Let him throw out his San Fan Lib BS and let the candidate handle it. I don’t see the need for the audience to react like we are all in Harlem watching a movie in the theater.

I think that question to any of the other candidates would have sunk them. Very few solid Conservatives up there in my opinion. They would have tried to split the baby. To many Libertarian leaning or straight up politicians.

There is nothing wrong with letting a candidate know that you like or dislike their answer. ohhhhh wait a minute. You a Perry supporter with his panties in a bunch over the boos he’s gotten the past couple of debates?

Congress approved repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in December 2010, during the lame-duck session after the elections that swept Republicans into power of the House of Representatives, but before they had taken power. Six Republicans voted with Democrats in the Senate to repeal the policy.

I don't think the President has the power to adopt or repeal the policy, although I'm sure Obama assumes he does. Therefore, the question had no purpose other than to be another homosexual "in your face" moment. The boo was justified.

I don’t know what small group in the crowd did it – but Conservatives DON’T boo soldiers. Booing soldiers is a Progressive thing, not ours. I don’t give a damn what sexual orientation he is. It was a horrible demonstration, that will be used against our side in worse ways than the cheering at Ron Pauls “let him die” reply from the 2nd debate or the Jerry Springer audience that snuck in and loudly cheered executions.

Quite frankly as a Veteran I was embarrassed, and even felt insulted last night.

Ending don’t ask don’t tell, was not part of the Republican platform, but its done and American people just want to move on, and not make this social issue part of this election. Its not the time and place for that battle. And this soldier lifted his right hand like any other soldier and took the same oath, and for all we know has served honorably. A standing ovation for the soldier, or at the very least a “Thank You for your service” followed by an intelligent argument defending the Republican platform would have been much smarter and classier.

Bother checking around here. I am the lone Santorum guy here. Have been and always will be. I defended Perry against irrational attacks because I was hoping for Perry to succeed because he was going to be the Myth killer. Myth needs to go post haste. Perry is failing at that.
