As the rest of the 2012 Republican presidential field ganged up on Texas Gov. Rick Perry during Thursday nights GOP debate, illegal immigration was the evenings hottest-button issue particularly the granting of in-state tuition rates to children of illegal immigrants in Texas. Now Perrys defense seems to have struck nerve with National Review columnist Mark Steyn.
Filling in for Rush Limbaugh on his radio program Friday, Steyn, the author of After America: Get Ready for Armageddon, took issue with Perrys response to those attacks.
Rick Perry has basically adopted the Democratic line now on the whole illegal immigration issue, Steyn said. He says that you know, if you want to demonize him for providing education to the children of illegal immigrants at in-state tuition rates, then you dont have any heart. Thats a Democrat talking point.

Haven't you heard the old adage: "It's better to keep your hands off your keyboard and be thought a fool than to actually type a post and remove all doubt?"
Lindsey called us “bigots” and that he was going to tell us to “shut up”
Larry Flynt has $1,000,000 with your name on it.

You will never get it until we lose entirely, or put up Romney. Wait until you figure out after the loss that the Hispanic vote, not the illegal vote, is who we needed to defeat Obama. Not pandering but Texas truth of the matter.
There are plenty of illegals in Texas brought here through no fault of their own. They are now in a vice because of the drug and gun running cartels, and the Mexican mob, who have made it impossible for any charity to be shown whatsoever to these Texas kids trying for citizenship. These highminded Christian conservatives have dumped them over wholesale. Perry knows who it is that needs to be annihilated, and who to give a hand to and the difference between them. There is truth to consider in the difference and Perry is guilty of speaking it.
“Lets cut to the chase here, there are a large majority of illegals who are here and dont give a damn about the United States, they dont wish to share out culture, our history and they could care less about anything American.
They are here because their own country is corrupt to the point that the people have few freedoms and little or no chance to better themselves especially economically.
No all, but good majority come here to in a sense create a country within a country the United States of Mexico one where they can live and thrive in the same history, culture and language of their homeland and yet not under the same corrupted government.”
Kart, you and I have had our differences, but the above, plus the rest of your post, is stellar. Very, very well said.
What annoys/disgusts/tires/peeves me is the utter laziness of the news media. Perry versus Romney is a MODERATE versus a LIBERAL. The “newspersons” reporting call them both conservatives because they are Republicans.
The DEMOCRATS are the one-wing party, but Manhattan and Malibu just won’t see it.
It has nothing to do with telling the truth and message. It has to do with practice in debates. So far since she left office, she has been in a bubble of friendly interviews on FOX and speeches at Tea Party events. Going from that to a hostile stage with everyone gunning for you in front of the nation is different. Plus you know if another network other than FOX does the debate, they will be gunning for her rapid fire.
She doesn’t have too many debates under her belt. A three way in an AK general 5 years ago and a one on one with Biden 3 years ago. Practice makes perfect. We can see how well it has honed even some of the professional/career debaters in the GOP like Mittens. He sound better, speech wise, than he did 6 debates ago.
“the loss that the Hispanic vote” (sic)

1. Let’s put this to bed: You can’t lose something you never had;
2. What’s a `Hispanic’? Is that someone from Hispaniola?; and,
3. On the subject of going to bed, were in Amarillo about 1990? I knocked boots with a cocktail waitress named `Rita’ there.
Yes I was listening to Mark Steyn today also and he’s absolutely right about Perry. Perry is committing suicide with this immigration stance on instate tuition for the illegals. Callng the rest of us heartless was not a smooth move either.

Between your tumblin’ and Rum Tum’s tuggin’ you two must be sharing the same dumpster. Get lost.
‘Differences’? surely not! ;-)
You know what else I find interesting on this subject is the hypocrisy of many whole tolerate this behavior of non-assimilation by Mexican Nationals, but get their rall against the same behavior by Muslims. Maybe they just don’t have a heart. :-)
And I wouldn’t vote for that jackass either.
Here is the problem with your expliantion it seems everything that been Good for Texas is because of Perry’s strong leadership and everything that is bad Perry couldn’t do anything about, because we don’t understand that the Govenor in Texas is a weak position because of its constitution. So which is it?
“Exactly. If there are 30 million illehgals in America, that’s enough to create some 50 congressional districts. They don’t even need to vote to create those districts. If they start voting, we’re about 20 years away from electing a president for life who wants to be called “General”. “
Hammer meet nail. Time for another operation wetback.
>>> “ Are you a sister to RitaX ?? “ <<<
“Org”. Great handle. Are you sandwiched in the dumpster too, between handle tumblin’ and handle tuggin’? Get lost, pup.

Another great point. You’re just on fire today, Kart. We did not lose, permanently, CA to the Muslims. But it is lost. Unless we want to lose one state after another until the USA as we know it is gone, we need some border sanity/protection. Perry isn’t the guy to do it, as he has been at great pains to point out. ;)
