Everyone here in Palinville who looks forward to good hard competition will be relieved to know that Gov. Rick Perry was NOT drunk at last nights debate, all appearances to the contrary. Its just that before taking the stage he inexplicably chose to receive a Gardasil shot, one of whose known side effects is mental slowness.
I heard about the whole pre-debate immunization from Michele Bachmanns Twitter.I could be wrong on that. Its just the information I received.
But enough about my opinion of Perrys debate performance, lets hear Dan Riehls

Can you tell me, and perhaps Chris Wallace of Fox News, what there is in the law that prevents state and local law enforcement officials from assisting in the apprehension and prosecution of folks who are violating federal law?
There seems to be plenty that REQUIRES them to do so!
So do I, but, he will crash and burn as soon as someone pays enough interest in him to crunch the numbers on that silly 999 plan.
There is no way that a majority of voters will exchange the current tax plan for one that sticks them with paying 18% with no deductions of any kind. He isn't ready for prime time.
No, they are not. Perry/Romey are more of the same twist in the breeze focus group tested non leaders that the Party Establishment loves.
All the rest of the candidates, even Paul, showed MORE leadership and MORE fidelity to GOP principals then either Perry or Romney did.
It time for the GOP to wake up. Running the same sort of Democrat Lite candidates year after year is what got us to the edge of absolute disaster in 2008.
We listened to the Party Establishment bots all tell us how "great" it would be to run McCain in 2008. How did THAT bit of Democrat Lite idiocy work out of us?
NOW it the time for real leadership, not play-it-safe Democrat Lite empty suits.
She’s nowhere near Reagan and never will be.
Being a conservative does not mean automatic equivalence to Reagan.
She’s buried in his shadow to the point of irrelevance.
And that does not mean I’m out for her or don’t like her, I do.
Obviously this animated clown can't debate even with rehearsed canned responses.
The fact is, the last thing the U.S. needs is another non-conservative leftist, open borders hack, masquerading as a conservative.
Not going to happen.
Cain is right at the top for me right now. He has a lev el of dignity, maturity, common sense, real world experience, tone, temperment, and presentation that i like.
Then you might as well turn off your computer and turn out the lights because the country is finished. If, after bringing us to the verge of complete fiscal disaster in the last three years, is NOT enough to wake the Party Establishment drones up to the fact that we can NO LONGER afford this "Do Nothing Different Politics as Usual" mindset you display in your post, then we are DONE as a nation.
All things change. Unfortunately, not always for the best. FR has been changing in the tenor of folks posts’ for quite some time. And the shots have been getting cheaper and cheaper, with no regard to facts. It is why I rarely post any longer.
>> I agree with you 100%! Perry should NOT drop out. <<
I agree too. After all, nobody likes a quitter.
Both he and Myth are not in my voting lexicon.
So I guess it will be up to the Republicans then to (continue) destroying the Country.
Well, then we’re done, because I posted the truth of the facts as they are, not what I wish they were.
He has a lot going for him.
D’oh! That’s a cheap shot.
Now is a time for leadership, not echos.
If people haven’t seen “Undefeated” on Pay per View will be at Walmart soon on DVD they shouldn’t make comments about Palin. It’s about Romney , Perry and their records. Simple.
So how did your "Be Democrat Lite" political dogma work out of us in 2008?
Now is a time for leadership, not echos.
Whether good or bad, these are tests in our system of primary elections to determine our Party representative.
More troubling to me though are Perry's positions versus his record. I continue to see more evidence that Perry isn't what his campaign has claimed him to be, a solid Conservative.
I've had the feeling for a while now that as bad a President as Obama is, he still has a massively effective campaign (including most of the MSM). While I do believe in the ABO philosophy, I'm even more convinced now that either of the current Republican front-runners would likely lose to Obama in November 2012.
I'm still optimistic though since (regardless of what the media keeps saying) it is still early and lots of things can change.
I have to say Cain is coming across right now as My No. 1 or 2 right now.
He is solid. common sense, maturity, patriotism, intelligent, life experience, private sector experience, etc.
Well, let's see... Perry believes the 10th amendment stands for "States Rights" and means absolutely EVERY controversial issue on the planet can be resolved if the feds wash their hands of it and "send it back to the states" to deal with.
Looks like the feds called his bluff!
