Forgive the delayed reply to your post; hadda go to work:
CD said: “Could she announce in October? Yes, she could, but the problem is, there seems to be something in the GOP primary DNA that tilts the table to those who have run before.”
ngat said: Huh? Did you forget about 08?
CD said “Uh, no. I was using 08 as Exhibit A.
Did you forget about 2000?”
ngat was reading posts fast, not realizing that you were thinking somehow Romney’s disastrous ‘08 primary run would tilt the table toward him. You make a good point about the GOP having no problem nominating proven losers.
on a different note:
With Christy “reconsidering”, and Palin not saying anything...I think the context is shifting here. I have steadfastly said that Palin won’t say anything in September. I have about a week left to see if I am right or wrong on that point, but I stand by it.
That said...if Christy gets in, that would make it clear that it isn’t “too late”...and Palin might well jump in, also. I think these two improbable work hand in hand and are related.
And I think Christy would not announce reconsideration had Perry performed competently in the third debate.
