If I had to vote tomorrow is would be Rich Santorum
Just say NO WAY TO PERRY. I wish Newt didn’t have the background he does because he’s my actual candidate...and besides, I think Hillary is going to be the dem nomination next year..not Zero.
“Socialism now or Socialism later is no choice at all.”
Not voting for Obama’s opponent is a vote for “socialism now”.
Perry will give illegals amnesty and all of them will get taxpayer tuition.
For me, every candidate has at least one objectionable/disqualifying position, viewpoint, or characteristic but in the primary I’ll vote for the best among them...and there’s not a one I wouldn’t vote for if they’re running against Zero.
“Perry will give illegals amnesty and all of them will get taxpayer tuition.”
I can think of no one for whom I wouldn’t vote if they’re Obama’s 2012 opponent.
Catching up on this thread today, and wanted to comment.
I went to Texas A&M along with Perry. I now live in California, and have a son who is a senior in high school.
It irks me that we would have to pay out-of-state tuition for him, and an illegal alien would not.
It also irks me that an illegal alien would get admission preference.
Geez, he’s a legal American citizen.
What is worse than amnesty and free tuition to illegals?
DITTO
It is so distressing that Newt is an option for us and so many people have disqualified him from the race. Why? The man has had a few missteps but good Lord, the man is head and shoulders above the front-runners in intellect and I would argue he is a much stronger candidate that would whip Obamas butt. Im sorry, but Perry is raw, flaky and questionable. Romney is polished but a total wimp. If Newt isnt at the very least our VP candidate we have only ourselves to blame.
I agree and I decided to just watch the debate and comment afterwards instead of participating in much of the live thread. It was p*ssing me off to see so many Freepers(are they really freepers or are they sleeper trolls?) saying they will sit home, pout and not vote. Are they that ignorant that they don’t realize NOBODY in the debate is 1/100th as bad as Obongo? That sitting home and acting like a whiny crybaby is a vote for Oblahblah... it makes me highly suspicious of them and I wonder if that it what they really want.
I think anyone that says they won’t vote or that Obama is better than any of the Republican nominees is a “concern troll”, not a real FReeper.
There are so many things that are worse. The economy, socialism, bad foreign policy, corruption... Having a politician stand at a debate and making false promises, just because it is what you want to hear.
BTW, the TX legislature passed the bill. Perry defended it last night saying only three reps voted against it. If you are from TX, you as a citizen had an opportunity to say something then.
I’m not from Texas. If you give amnesty to illegals....they can vote...and you can guarantee your concerns: ‘economy, socialism, bad foreign policy, corruption’ will happen. Because there will never be another conservative ever elected. There is NOTHING WORSE THAN AMNESTY!! PERRY IS AS BAD AS OBAMA!!
Cain really is something special. He seems to have a temperment, tone, maturity, and dignity about him that others lack. Hard to explain.
“What is worse than amnesty and free tuition to illegals?”
1. I’m not a Perry supporter.
2. I don’t like aspects of his stance on illegals, but neither do I take at face value that you’re right about what Perry would (or could) do as President; it hasn’t happened in Texas (they don’t have amnesty and he introduced legislation banning sanctuary cities - and they get in-state tuition rates, not “free tuition”).
3. Nothing is worse than 4 more years of Obama. I will vote for ANYONE running against Obama.
"Other than"... does say your talking out of both sides of your mouth.
We all know where Texas stands on illegal immigration. You can attempt to split hairs but Perry has made it clear he is supportive of immigration over his border as follows:
"President Foxs vision for an OPEN BORDER is AVISION I EMBRACE"....Gov. Perry
"We must continue to deepen our economic ties (with Mexico), expanding opportunities for Mexican and U.S. companies to do business on both sides of the border. We share a bond as neighbors, and we find our culture north of the Rio Grande to be increasingly defined by the strong traits of people of Hispanic descent."....Gov. Perry http://governor.state.tx.us/news/speech/10688/
Perry opposed an Arizona-style immigration law for his state, saying it would not be the right direction for Texas. Because it would turn police officers into immigration agents (duh) a mindless talking point taken directly from La Raza.
The Marietta Daily Journal - D AKingPerry record on immigration abysmal
Wow. Spin much?
This is not a credible source. Probably someone who was disgruntled because he/she wasn't permitted to plaster the whole place with those tacky Ron Paul signs.
IMO, if the debate was rigged in anyone's favor, it was Romney's.
Shame on you putting out Ron Paul Forums trash as if it's a credible source.
Certainly he has baggage from the past but none of it was against the security of our country which comes first and foremost. Both Perry and Romney are globalists....where Newt understands completely the sovernity of our country within the international trade agreements.
Last night Perry openly admitted putting his ‘heart’ before the American taxpayer. THAT is exactly what he will do as President.
If so it will be a temporay fill for Hillary, her asperations are international not national now. But the media has not yet fully exposed the Democratic search for candidates to oppose Obama, which is currently in play more than most are aware.
