Herman Cain

Newt Gingrich
Gingrich served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican member from 1979 to 1999. He has a PhD in modern European history.
Jon Huntsman

Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. Hes an ob-gyn and was Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008
Rick Perry

Mitt Romney

Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.
Gary Johnson
Johnson served as governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2002. He founded what would become one of the largest construction companies in New Mexico. He has competed in several triathlons and climbed Mount Everest.
You are correct. Good catch.
With all the damage he's done my dog could beat Barack Obama in 2012. We need the best conservative nominee, period. The rest will take care of itself. Unless that candidate has the principles and courage to UNDO what Zero has done, all of this is academic and it won't matter that we elected "a Republican" to take the blame.
Of all of them... Newt has been and always does very well in debates.
I just looked it up. By my count there are 9 more debates,
Next up Oct 11 at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
Time for Perry to regroup and get prepared!
“Hey has FR repealed the Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy on being a Newt fan? For years I thought I was the only one who didnt think he was a RINO turncoat. Not that Ive been blind to his faults but I swear I was the only person I saw write a positive thing about him around here for the longest time.
Good to be out of the closet, isnt it?”
I think a LOT of people here are secretly NEWT fans, but afraid to say so. He is now in 3rd place in the latest Rasmussen poll. With Perry’s dismal performance, the general dislike of Mitt Romney, and the soon-to-be-unveiling on Newt’s NEW Contract with America.... more and more people will be looking at Newt as the one person who can beat Mitt Romney. Perry at least put up more of a fight than Fred Thompson, but is about to suffer the same fate..... total collapse.
Newt may have baggage, but Mitt has Romneycare for Obama to hammer him with on a daily basis. On the plus side..... Newt has an unbelievable grasp on everything, and an incredible amount of great ideas. Mitt Romney has his talking points so rehearsed, you can’t even tell he’s spewing talking points.
It *might* come down to Romney and Newt, and I hope you people can come out of your Newt-closets, and put your support behind his candidacy.
Oh please, Newt was CREAMED by Clinton and his minions in minutes. He was the most hated man in America and that was before his love life was dragged out.
Newt is a great talker, but he is unable to stand up under the heat.
Well having seen how this Primary thing is panning out, I will take any R in the WH and I am going to start focusing on the Senate. If either Mittens or Perry get in, we need a group of Jim DeMint types to make sure whatever type of person we get in there does exactly what they say in these debates. If they want to play the Conservative, we are going to hold them to it. I think we can take the Senate this go round and there are some solid people running.
As far as I’m concerned there is already a void for a conservative voice. I couldn’t watch any of the debates because with the exception of Newt and maybe Cain, the candidates are an embarrassment and are as boring as......
“So, if illegal families are being drawn to Texas, its for 3 years prior to college, they graduate and stay out of trouble with the law.”
What does it mean to go to college? To major in mexican studies or some other humanities degree and get indoctrinated by some radical communist professor?
Perry never said he met her before the EO. It's bad enough when Dems smears conservatives, but it's happening on a daily basis on FR these days.
I would like for Newt to tam up with Cain. He could teach Cain what Cain would need to know and hopefully Cain could help keep Newt in the straight and narrow.
$5,000 with books?!?!? Wow.
Not that cheap where my 3 kids went/go to school. They did get some scholarship money, but no loans.
One of them is now living in Cali and paying those wonderful Cali taxes....boy does he ever complain!
There is no reason to gang up on Perry. Perry is not ready for these debates. He badly needs to work on prep. When he's relaxed he's fine but he stumbles a lot. It's frustrating.
Of those I saw, his best answer was the VP question. It told me a lot about what he knows about his own limitations and what he respects in others.
Even in the post-debate with Hannity, I noticed Bachmann wasn't challenged and she along with Romney were asked about Perry so they could bash him again. Cain was asked about ObamaCare. Paul was asked about foreign policy.
“I would like for Newt to tam up with Cain. He could teach Cain what Cain would need to know and hopefully Cain could help keep Newt in the straight and narrow. “
ah ha so Perry had a good point about a Cain/Newt combo!
Actually, some people here think Perry made the decision on this. It was the TX legislature.
I doubt anyone thinks the citizens of TX voted at the polls on the issue. However, you vote your representatives in. The only thing the people could have done is made their objections heard.

“How about Milts statement that he was going to be better on gay issues than Ted Kennedy? Thats gonna be a real winner in the primaries. And his full-fledged support of abortion will not be forgotten. Bob”
Ok, if you are going to go way back in time, like when Rick Perry was an actual Democrat, how about Perry thinking Al Gore was wonderful? Hmmmmmmm?
“Actually, some people here think Perry made the decision on this. It was the TX legislature. “
He publicly endorsed it tonight and made it much worse for himself when he said his heart made him do it. That’s a big no no. Only dems talk that way.
Too many people know about his various positions, I'm telling you if Romney is the nominee, you'll be saying President Obama on January 22, 2013,
Jim DeMint
*********
That’s my choice for president, sure wish he was running. /pout
