WINNERS: Palin/Cain
I understand. But I detest the man. Here’s my thinking.
Myth and Filth (Obama) will both take the country down the tubes...at pretty much the same pace. I’d rather the far left was blamed for it with a subsequent swing right thant the right be blamed for it with a subsequent swing to the far left.
Subject to change of course. But I have a very bad feeling about Myth.
Hank
Don’t cry please. At this point we have got to work on getting Obama out of the White House. Then let’s ensure that we elect conservatives to Congress. I have my candidate but I will support ANYBODY that is up against the Muslim.
“Yes, they sounded like an old feuding married couple and its getting old. I want to hear what they are going to do for us, not how they can one up each other.”
You’re just parroting Mike Wallace who said this. They both said what they wanted to do for us, you must have dozed off. Let them feud, it’s a debate, for heaven’s sake, what do you want up there, a bunch of robots?
“I did not know that he said he would legalize them”
That is EXACTLY what he said and I am mystified that it hasn’t registered throughout the Republican party and with conservatives.
Perry: “I support a guest worker program that takes undocumented workers off the black market and legitimizes their economic contributions without providing them citizenship status.”

Just to thank you again Kabar for giving links and your comments tonight on immigration. Perry’s stance will indeed bring him ‘favor’ in the Hispanic community and likely other foreigners here....as well as the muslim community will likely favor Perry....how that will play out in the election remains to be seen of course.
Why won't Sarah Palin be a big girl and address the issues? Thanks to her, we're well on our way to a Romney candidacy. She made Perry a target last Monday. Funny how she has been basically in hiding since then, isn't it?
Best statement on this thread all night.
Since when have illegals automatically become legal?
His brilliance is undeniable. I think I hate him but after each debate I am a fan again. He is so damn smart it’s scary.
Great. Here come Obama's term two because FReepers can't find their perfect candidate.
First time, he voted NO. Second time, they all voted yes for the illegal college.
like Perry, but I think he did terrible tonight. He’s a bad debater from what I can see, just can’t defend his positions, can’t finesse his way out of any of his less popular stances, etc. Perry does not seem quick on his feet at all.
Unfortunately, Romney the chameleon continues to do very well in these debates. Tonight, I think Romney won easily.
I agree and I like Perry too. His record is impressive and counts for more than a debate with me. However, truth be told, Newt has won every debate. He is a brilliant guy and it’s a tragedy for all Americans that he shot himself in the foot so bad in his personal life. I hope she was worth it Newt!
Cain is terrific and absolutely belongs in an administration somewhere. His 9/9/9 plan is intriguing but like others have pointed out.... 9/9/9 would become 10/10/10, 11/11/11, adnauseum with the bunch of clowns we have in congress. A balanced budget amendment is our best shot to rein in spending because we can’t seem to elect people that will do it.
Nobody in the media is attacking Romney right now but trust me.... if he becomes the nominee his faith will be front and center for months on end. Right or wrong, I do believe it will hurt him and his record will not stand up to scrutiny very well.
Fox pumping Romney is sickening. Romney is very smart and articulate but his record in office is not impressive.
Perry still looks very stiff and I suspect his back is not feeling too good after standing at the podium. He is definitely not a debate champion and the format is not ideal for him. He is at his best off the cuff in a relaxed format.
Romney saying Rick Perry is not electable on Fox is a joke. We were all saying the same thing about Romney a few months ago. What changed?
Exceedingly highly respected he was one of the earliest ministers to preach in the North, the South and in between ~ and out on the frontier.
He wrote songs that are still popular.
I’d have to agree. I have not been impressed with any of his debate performances. Too many Dubya flashbacks.
I miss heard and clarified on a couple other posts. It is not a free-ride...Happy? OK, that said, Perry embraced
this and I don’t. Tell me would you like this program if Obama was embracing it?
Even if students are getting the out-of-state tuition waived, they are illegal and they are competing for student loans, scholarships, jobs, grants, etc. Since your family has students in school, perhaps you can appreciate the competitiveness of jobs, grants, scholarships, and loans??? Nice giving preference to students that by definition should not be here and then sharing the jobs loans and scholarships pool as well.
Never mind that it is illegal by law to do this and by law they should not be here.
I still think it is outrageous. In Illinois, they are allowing same program, so ILLEGAL students are getting tuition rates of $24-$19,000 versus $28,300-$33,500.
A problem? In the end, this will be a huge factor why he'll never be voted in for President.
Millions won't be lied to or hoodwinked again. Been there done that with Bush. Never again.
Perry would be our WORST choice. Huntsman is better than Perry.
RuPaul would let Iran get nuclear warheads
Liberaltarians want bring down the world.
Yep...Cain made a good mark tonight with the audiance as well as the candidates themselves. Though I don’t think he’ll get the primary there’s no doubt he’s going to go far and hopefully be a strong force in the next administration
