How about taxing EVERYONE at same rate, say 18% no deductions and no tax credits, just 18% of your income...and one other thing, no weekly payment to the taxman, payment due from you by April 15.

There are several reforms that could be done.
The first one would be to eliminate withholding.
Make everyone write a check to the IRS every month, just like rent or mortgage payments.
or
Move tax day to Oct 31st (right before elections).
But seriously, I like the consumption tax (with the elimination of all other taxes of course).

In my humble but exalted opinion, a REAL flat tax would be everybody paying the same.
Not the same percentage of anything; the same.
