MADISON, Wis.Nearly one-in-five of the jobs listed on a state website touted by Gov. Scott Walker as a resource for unemployed Wisconsin residents are actually located in neighboring states, according to an analysis by The Associated Press. More than 32,000 job openings were posted on the Job Center of Wisconsin's website as of Tuesday, but about 18 percent of them were in Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan. It was unclear how many of those roughly 6,000 jobs could be filled through telecommuting, though many appeared to require on-site work.
Walker ran on a promise to add 250,000 private sector jobs in the state by 2015, and the Republican repeatedly referenced the websitethe state's official jobs sitein his radio address last week as a place for Wisconsin's unemployed to find jobs and quickly connect with employers.

why in the heck would you post this propaganda garbage without comment?
Seems like Gov. Walker cares about people putting food on the table for his residents!! Brilliant!
The fact that they are promoting opportunities for those who can commute isn’t an issue — look how many in CT and NJ work in NY. It’s a smart move designed to help the people of WI and has nothing to do with the jobs he intends to create in-state as well. I wish him all the success in the world, and glad to see he’s focused on helping the people of WI find opportunites, regardless of what state they are in!
I don’t get the complaint. Are there giant concrete walls on the state line that keep people from working in nearby states? Its not like its California jobs that are being listed. Rockford, IL (cited by the article as an “out of state job) is only about an 80 minute commute from Madison and even less from Wisconsin border towns of Benoit (30 mins).
I know people who commute over 2 hrs to Dc...is 30 minutes so bad?
Clearly the Associated Press is concerned that Walker won't be able to meet his goal of increasing employment in Wisconsin, and so they published this article in order to help his efforts.

I love the way the title tries to make it look like Walker was bragging about jobs he created. They use the word “touted” when they should have used the word “listed”. People who only read the title will thing Walker was bragging about creating 6,000 jobs that were not even in his state.
This complaint says more about the publisher than the Governor.
Besides, the Union will keep you fat and happy, but for those who want to be self-reliant, and have to drive a few miles to the available work, we have to complain (if we're a Union-loving news organization, and a Leftist/Socialist-dependent entity).
If Governor Walker wants to govern the entire Midwest or even more than that, He's got my vote!
So, Gov. Walker is offering 26,000 new jobs in-state?
Here is an example of the lib PP (Pioneer Press) playing with its editorial WE WE....
props to the guvnah!
the Doyle option would’ve been more food stamps.
